Garage Updates, Smoother Island Riding & Multiplayer Fixes

This update brings new customization options, a cleaner garage presentation, and fixes for island hitching and multiplayer resets.

Performance

  • Fixed a major source of hitching near islands and rivers. Physical wakes now reuse seabed data prepared during loading, avoiding expensive terrain calculations while riding.
  • Preserved physical wake interactions between riders, including wave strength and simulation detail.

Garage & Customization

  • Choose Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, or Purple for your jet ski and rider independently.
  • Color selections save between sessions and are shared with other players when joining multiplayer.
  • Fixed a missing-shader error that could prevent the garage from opening correctly in the Windows build.
  • Adjusted the showroom pedestal and camera movement for a more level presentation.
  • Moved the rider closer to the jet ski and improved hand placement in the crossed-arm pose.
  • Added the new Splashback Garage logo with corrected proportions and placement.
  • Jet ski model selection, decals, and upgrades remain marked Coming Soon.

Multiplayer

  • Improved ski reset recovery to find clear water and avoid placing riders beneath the map.
  • Spread reset searches across frames and prevented repeated reset requests from causing heavy stalls.
  • Fixed reset synchronization so delayed movement updates cannot pull a ski back toward its previous position.
  • Added a host-controlled Race AI option in the lobby. Turn it off for human-only races; the setting carries through race restarts.

Playing online? Make sure everyone in your room has the updated build.

Please try the island approaches and river sections that previously hitched and let us know if you still notice stutters.

Dive into the turn · Tight turns now build as the bow digs into the water, with smoother steering buildup and recovery. · Feather your forward lean to control dive pressure. A deeper carve tightens the turn but costs momentum. · Overcommitting can slide the stern out. Ease toward neutral or countersteer to recover. ·…
