The Gradanix Playtest Is Open — Request Access

Descend as deep as you dare

Gradanix is a permadeath co-op action-RPG roguelike. Pick a hero, drop into an endless world that gets meaner the further you go, and see how deep you get before it kills you — because it will.

The playtest is free, it runs on Windows, and you can play solo or with up to three friends.

How to get in

  1. Head to the Gradanix store page
  2. Hit Request Access on the playtest section
  3. Sit tight — we're adding testers in batches, and you'll get a Steam notification the moment you're in

Already a tester? You can bring up to 3 friends with you straight from your Steam library.

What you're getting into

  • Seven classes — warrior, paladin, rogue, hunter, mage, priest, warlock. Each one plays differently enough to be worth a run of its own.
  • An endless descent — seeded maze floors that climb in difficulty, a boss arena every seventh level, and a safe town every third zone to spend what you found.
  • Death is real, progress isn't lost — a run ends for good, but your character level, titles, achievements and bank all survive it. You come back stronger, not from scratch.
  • Something down there holds a grudge — kill you, and the thing that did it can come back named, promoted and meaner. It remembers you between sessions.
  • Secrets worth finding — false walls, rare encounters, room roles, and hidden build synergies the game never tells you about.
  • Crank the difficulty yourself — corruption is opt-in, raise-only, and has its own leaderboard for people who like proving a point.
  • Global leaderboards — solo, co-op, corruption, highest character level, guilds, and a daily challenge everyone runs on the same seed.

  • Full controller support. Every menu is navigable with a gamepad now, from the very first screen. LB/RB flip between the Options tabs, A selects, B goes back.
  • You decide who joins you. Hosting asks who's allowed in — open to anyone, friends only, or closed so you can descend alone in peace. Uninvited players are turned away as they connect; they never see your world.
  • Report a bug without leaving the game. There's a button in Options and on the death screen. It sends us your version, class, level, zone seed and corruption automatically, so you can just describe what went wrong. One report every four days — make it count.

Tell us what breaks

This is a playtest, so things will. That's the point — and the fastest way to get something fixed is to say so:

  • Use the Report a Bug button in-game (Options, or the death screen)
  • Or come find us on Discord and shout about it there

Balance notes, "this boss feels unfair", "I have no idea what this item does" — all of it is useful. Especially the awkward stuff.

Not in yet?

Wishlist Gradanix while you wait. It's the single most useful thing you can do for a game that isn't out yet — it's what decides who Steam shows it to on launch day.

See you at the bottom.

Game update15 Sep 2026Patch 0.3.41 — Monsters Have To Swing At You NowMonsters have to swing at you now Bosses and elites have wound up their attacks for a long time — a moment where the blow is coming and you can still get out of it. Ordinary monsters never did. The swing animation and the damage left on the same frame, the instant you were in range, which is why it felt like they hurt you just by touching you. Blinking or dashing through a monster was a free hi…Game update14 Sep 2026v0.3.40 — Patch NotesMelee: reach, hits, and safety Melee classes were losing fights they shouldn't lose. We fixed three things: Attack range increased across the board: Warrior 3.0 → 3.6, Paladin 2.8 → 3.4, Rogue 2.4 → 3.1. Rogue's old range was literally shorter than a Ravager's reach — you could stand still and still get outranged by the thing you were hitting. Fixed a hit-arc bug where standing point-blank on a…Game update12 Sep 2026Patch release 0.3.36The developer can now find a player who is reporting a bug, join their game, and message everyone at once. Because that touches you, here is exactly what the game now sends, what is kept, and for how long.
