Gilded Destiny Game Update

Salutations Industrialists,

We’ve made the difficult decision to move Gilded Destiny’s release date to 2027.

Before we get further into today’s update, we want to thank you for your continued support. We love your excitement for Gilded Destiny; all of us at Aquila really enjoy reading, considering, and getting to implement your comments, questions, and feedback.

You can watch today’s update here:

Release Date Update

We wanted to take the time to address Gilded Destiny’s release date. Today, we’ll be moving Gilded Destiny’s release date to 2027.

Changing the date wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to make sure Gilded Destiny's core features and systems are completed ahead of an Early Access release in 2027. To do that, we need a few additional months to ensure everything meets the high quality bar you’d expect from us.

With this in mind, we want to be as transparent as possible about what we're currently working on to ensure Gilded Destiny is where we all want it to be.

What We’re Currently Working On

Rebellions

One of the features we’re adding in the coming months is rebellions and rebels, with the aim of adding depth to internal governance and diplomacy. This will involve adding not only rebellion events when you reach a certain level of unrest in your provinces and cities, but also the addition of new policies and technology relating to rebellions, rebels, and unrest in your population.

Economy

We’re also in the process of redesigning Gilded Destiny’s economy. This means refining both the economic and trading experience, ensuring there's clearer information on what exactly is going on. We'll also be doing a lot of work to ensure the economic pacing of the early to mid game is smoother and more balanced.

Military

In the next few months, we’re looking to overhaul the military system. This overhaul will include improving the military UI, as well as the visualization of military information. We're looking to simplify the UI, so it's easier for you to see and react to what's happening tactically and strategically, while also adding depth with defensive and offensive structures such as forts.

Tutorial and Onboarding

One of the additional objectives we have before release is shaping Gilded Destiny’s onboarding. We’re busy creating an in-depth tutorial, helping both seasoned grand strategy players and people new to the genre get to grips with everything Gilded Destiny has to offer.

Additional Game Polish

In addition to the above, the team is also working on adding extra polish to Gilded Destiny. This means balancing and optimizing many of the in-game systems and mechanics, bug-fixing, and ensuring that the general quality bar for the game is as good as it can before getting into your hands.

We will be showcasing each of these systems and mechanics in separate Dev Diaries over the coming months, starting with Bureaucracy, which will be in the next couple of weeks.

Once again, we wanted to thank all of you for your continued support. The dev team, all of us, really appreciate the excitement and enthusiasm you all have for Gilded Destiny. We’re not going anywhere, and we can’t wait for it to get into all of your hands!

As always, if you have any questions or comments, we'd love to talk to you in our Discord, or catch you across YouTube, X, Facebook, and Reddit.

May your destiny be a gilded one.
