Free Ball: Volleyball · published
Based on feedback from players who were having trouble getting into Free Ball, the Practice mode has been redesigned into a proper Tutorial that you can follow step-by-step.
The new tutorial includes guided descriptions and videos covering the basics of Free Ball, including:
Float Serving
Jump Serving
Receiving
Spiking
Roll Shots
Setting
Blocking
Using Special Abilities
The goal is to make Free Ball easier to understand and pick up, especially for players who may not have much experience with games or volleyball.
A dedicated Special Ability page has also been added, showing information about every ability currently in the game. This was added based on requests and feedback from Steam users.
Localization for these new tutorial and Special Ability description will be added in a future update.
This update also includes several smaller improvements based on player reports:
Setter bots will now choose to set the ball to human players more
Bots can now use offensive special abilities when playing as the setter
Improved bot defensive behavior
Shark Dive has been buffed to make it more likely to successfully save the ball
Fixed various minor bugs and edge cases
More significant visual and art updates are also coming soon.
Most importantly, the Free Ball Kickstarter campaign launches on October 10, 2026.
