In short, when importing the compressed .ogg, Godot auto-set them to loop. I'm not sure how widespread the issue was as it depended on your audio settings, but it is now fixed.
Song randomization in general is now improved -- I shuffle the relevant playlist and make sure each song is played, and when I reshuffle I make sure the song that was just playing doesn't play again. (Previously I was randomly skipping forward through an array.)
In addition, I've also included two of the most recent tracks from Rutrum's composer Fadlan Amada:
Teen Priest's Theme
Merchant's Theme [*Note: I love this song but it does have a slightly different flavor at points, but still in line with what Fadlan and I discussed. The Merchant's backstory kind of gives rise to this non-natural sound for the world of Rutrum.]
In addition, you can now skip the current song by pressing the "=" key. I'm sorry if this messed up any custom keybindings. Depending on demand, I may put it as a standalone UI button in the game.
[ Minor Bugs ]
Charcoal handle is now properly locked. As an oversight it was previously unlocked for all players. If you previously played Rutrum, the handle will remain unlocked for that profile, but any new profiles or new players will have the handle locked.
One Shovel had a condition : "Forge Coal in Volcano Crate" that did not actually unlock upon completion. This is now fixed. (I'm sorry but I cannot retroactively trace whether it was done in this case.)
EDIT (9/16/2026): With this bug in particular, I felt the Demo no longer represented the full game very well. As a result, I did end up having to deactivate the demo for now, but it is still available if you launch the .exe directly. (There was no way to adjust it so you could launch it within Steam.)
