Hi everyone,
This is the second Dev Blog that we are releasing, offering an update on the latest events and developments regarding Fuel Needed.
If you are following our social media, you would have seen some behind-the-scenes videos from our freelancers showcasing the making of the Mars levels. The red planet is going to be the second planet that you will be able to explore, featuring new environmental hazards and alien tech. If on the Moon, besides the first level, all the other levels happen only in the caves, Mars is going to have a more mixed path, requesting or encouraging players to head onto the surface and face the challenges while racing to reach the end as fast as possible.
We will release a Mars levels showcase once all the levels are ready.
We are planning on two more planets once Mars is completed, so stay tuned to find out more!
In the previous dev blog, we talked about our plans to implement customisation features such as input controls, customising the colour for all the UI elements, and localisation.
We are happy to announce that all these features have been implemented. The colour customisation offers four presets: cyan, pink, orange, and metallic, but also offers the option to completely customise your interface with a colour picker for every single element.
We have also implemented the localisation system, allowing players to change the in-game language. We already include the first new language and will announce it shortly, with more to come. We are planning to include as many languages as possible to offer the best experience to our players.
With the customisation features successfully implemented, that concludes the features that will be included in the demo.
Our next short-term goal is to polish the demo as much as possible and include new languages before making it available to the public.
We will also work on finalising the remaining planned levels with the help of our freelancers and implement the remaining features for the main release.
I hope you enjoyed reading this Dev Blog. The release of the next Dev Blog will depend on how much content we'll be able to create. Our initial goal was one every two weeks, but we realised that there was not enough content to talk about, with the customisation features being completed this week.
Stay safe, and thank you once again for supporting Fuel Needed!
