Hi everyone,
This is the third Dev Blog that we are releasing, offering an update on the latest events and developments regarding Fuel Needed.
On 31st August 2026, we launched our localisation campaign, seeking volunteers willing to help us translate Fuel Needed into different languages.
We are very happy and excited to share that it was a great success, with twelve members of the community reaching out and supporting us with seventeen languages!
17 languages
4 alphabets
3 continents
2 writing styles
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to our goal of reaching as many people as possible!
So far, we have announced: Bulgarian, Hindi, and Simplified Chinese.
More languages will be announced over the following weeks.
The main focus over the past three weeks was to implement the languages and portray each culture in a respectful manner.
From the very first translations, we realised that the length of our texts varies wildly between different languages, with our User Interface not being robust enough to accommodate that. We took the necessary steps to fix this by readjusting the position of some elements to make space, realigning text, and creating a dynamic system that changes the font size of multiple elements if one associated text doesn't fit.
Now we are happy to announce that the Interface is looking much better and is much more responsive, with multiple languages passing the test.
There is one alphabet that gave us some trouble, and we had to create completely new systems just for it, but we will talk more about it in our next Dev Blog, after we announce the language.
By the end of September 2026, we plan to finalise the inclusion of all the languages, finish the UI polish, and revamp the Moon levels before we prepare the demo for the Steam review and we do a closed testing session with all of our translators to ensure that everything is working correctly.
Meanwhile, our freelancers are still working hard to finalise the Mars levels, with the hope that they will be able to move on to the next world pretty soon.
Stay safe, and thank you once again for supporting Fuel Needed!
