Archetype Blue’s Future Plans and SEA Game Awards 2026 News

Hello, this is Codename Bom.

Today, we would like to share an update on the development of Chapters 2 and 3, our upcoming schedule, and some news regarding the SEA Game Awards 2026.

New Chapters Are on the Way

We are developing Chapters 2 and 3 of Archetype Blue.

The monsters, NPCs, and background maps for the new chapters are gradually coming together. In this update, we would like to give you a small preview of some of the content still in development.

Chapter 2 and the Story of Young Mary

Chapter 2 takes us back into the past of the protagonist and Lancelot.

Players will be able to assign missions directly to a younger Mary, asking her to gather resources needed for an expedition or assist with managing the expedition party.

This will introduce a new management element where players must decide who should be entrusted with each task, adding new choices beyond combat.

Several new NPCs with unique functions will also appear.

Louise allows you to sell companions you are no longer using.

Through the Jester, you can purchase or exchange artifacts and replenish previously used consumable items.

Lucid specializes in Dream Cards, allowing you to purchase them or exchange them for other Dream Cards.

Finally, Senior Q can fuse the minds of companions, helping them grow into more powerful allies. In some situations, you may also be given the unusual option of exchanging a fallen companion for an artifact.

These NPCs are more than simple merchants. Each one will introduce new choices that affect how you manage your expedition party.

New Enemies Await

We are also preparing new enemies who will stand against Mary and her companions.

A powerful warrior named Vladi and a dangerous woman who commands blood will make their first appearances. There are also many other enemies and monsters that we have not revealed yet.

We hope to complete Chapters 2 and 3 as soon as possible so that we can finally show you all the stories and content we have been preparing.

Upcoming Schedule 📅

Archetype Blue is scheduled to participate in the Steam Party-Based RPG Fest beginning September 15.

After that, we plan to participate in Steam Next Fest beginning October 20, while continuing development with the goal of releasing the game within this year.

Our development team consists of four people, including myself.

Like many other indie teams, we are creating the game with limited staff and resources. However, that does not mean we intend to rush out an incomplete game or easily abandon the content we originally planned.

We will continue searching for solutions so that we can deliver the most complete and polished game possible within our capabilities.

We do not have a publisher at the moment, but we cannot stop development while waiting for the right partner. We believe in the direction we have chosen, and we will continue moving forward.

All art assets, sound effects, and BGM required for Early Access have now been completed. The most important work remaining is balancing the game and conducting QA so that it can run reliably across a variety of environments.

We have truly reached the final stage of development.

We will continue carefully refining the game until the end, making it more enjoyable, more stable, and better able to show the qualities we have been working to create.

SEA Game Awards 2026 News 🏆

We also have some good news to share.

Archetype Blue has been pre-selected for consideration as one of the Top 40 Finalists at the SEA Game Awards 2026, an international game event held in Malaysia.

However, attendance at the event is required to secure a place as an official Top 40 finalist.

A member of the development team or an authorized representative must attend the event in Malaysia. Unfortunately, our team is currently unable to cover the cost of flights and accommodation, so it is unlikely that we will be able to participate this time.

It is very disappointing that we may not be able to confirm our place as an official finalist.

Even so, the fact that Archetype Blue received a positive evaluation during an international judging process and was considered for the Top 40 is deeply meaningful to us.

We are especially disappointed to miss the opportunity to introduce our game directly to players in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.

We hope that Archetype Blue will achieve good results in the future, allowing us to participate in more international events and meet the people who enjoy our game in person.

Even if we are unable to visit this time, we hope to travel to Malaysia and other parts of Southeast Asia when another opportunity arises and greet everyone there personally.

We Will Keep Moving Forward

We may be a small team, but our desire to deliver a good game to everyone waiting for Archetype Blue is anything but small.

Your interest and support give us the strength to continue development.

We will continue sharing updates about new chapters, characters, and the development process.

We sincerely hope that our passion and all the work we have put into the game will reach you through Archetype Blue.

Thank you.

Bom~🎆

One of the things we keep thinking about while making Archetype Blue is this: Combat needs to be fun, of course, but the characters who appear between those battles shouldn’t feel like they’re just standing there and reading lin…
