☕ Making Dialogue Feel More Alive 👀

Hello, this is the Archetype Blue development team ☕

Today, we’re not working on cards or combat balance, but on improving the presentation of dialogue scenes a little.

One of the things we keep thinking about while making Archetype Blue is this:
Combat needs to be fun, of course, but the characters who appear between those battles shouldn’t feel like they’re just standing there and reading lines.

We want Mary, the people she meets, and the emotions they carry to come through a little more clearly.
That way, we hope players can feel a bit closer to the world and its characters.

So going forward, we’re planning to add small touches like character blinking and facial expression changes during conversations 👀

It’s not a huge feature.
But we think even small things, like a character blinking while speaking, changing expression when surprised, or showing a different face in a sad scene, can change the feeling of a scene quite a lot.

Until now, some dialogue scenes have felt a little static, so we’d like to add these small movements and make the characters feel a bit more alive on screen.

Of course, once we actually add them, some parts might feel awkward, or too much movement might even get in the way.

So we’ll try applying them little by little and find the direction that fits Archetype Blue’s atmosphere best ✨

Lately, we’ve talked a lot about cards and combat updates, but we’re also continuing to work on the story scenes.

We want Archetype Blue to be remembered not only as a game about repeated battles, but also as a journey filled with characters and emotions.

We’ll keep working so we can show you a game that gets a little better each time.

We hope you’ll continue to look forward to Archetype Blue and support us.

Bom~😋
