The Anthrowolves are taking shape: a toolbox deck built around choosing the right transformation for the battle ahead. This update also brings clearer combat sequences, faster Survey decisions, Oni balance changes, and improvements to battle presentation and card browsing. These notes cover the changes since v3.1.47. The Anthrowolves cards, pack, and campaign are currently available in UAT. The Steam main-game v3.1.51 build is on the uat-testing branch.
The 28-card group now has defined costs, roles, and keyword combinations. Its werewolf forms are Team Avatars in the Immaterial Deck, using Mortal Monsters as their transformation material. Bring Mortals from different universes, choose the form that answers the current board, and use Lycanthropy to recover material for another transformation.
Alpha Anthrowolf brings Leadership, Warcry, and Bite to support the pack and weaken opposing Monsters.
Anthrowolf Berserker combines Frenzy, Monstrous, and Stab for an aggressive battle role.
Anthrowolf Huntress pairs Hunter with Bite, while Anthrowolf Winter Hunter offers Raze, Survey, and Draw when you need different tools.
UAT content: A 10-credit Werewolves Pack, the five-battle The Moonlit Hunt campaign crossing Universe and Universal, enemy artwork for the group, and three Anthrowolf wallpapers.
Bite: At the start of your Battle Phase, target an opposing Monster without Super. Reduce its Shielding by this card's current Power until the end of the turn. If its Shielding reaches zero or less, destroy it. Bite belongs to the same battle-effect family as Stomp.
Frenzy: This Monster must attack during your Battle Phase if a legal attack is available. Plan your targets before committing to battle.
Lycanthropy: Once per turn per card, when this card moves from your field to Rest, return a Mortal Monster from your Rest Zone to an open Monster Zone. The returning Mortal can come from any universe.
Warspawn: The original Monster declares its attack and spawns its Warrior Token if there is space. The original Monster finishes its battle first; the token then attacks the same opponent in a separate attack if able. You regain control to attack with other Monsters or end the phase. Warspawn tokens leave when the Battle Phase ends.
Vengeful: Now works when its bearer was attacking, provided it was the only Monster destroyed by that battle.
Band: Joined Power appears in attack previews and battle displays. Band joins actual battles, not Stomp or similar effects.
Collective: No longer shares itself or passes along keywords borrowed from another Collective, preventing sharing loops.
Warcry: Repeated activations display together with a count and clearer battle-log entries. Temporary stat bonuses expire correctly, including when a shared keyword disappears before cleanup.
Immaterial summons: Explicit Enhancement material requirements now work correctly, including Sea Oni. Valid material and an open Monster Zone are checked before payment.
Survey now shows all revealed options together. Assign each card to the top or bottom group, with a gold glow marking selected choices. Press OK once all choices are made, then arrange the cards within each group as before.
Oni Princess: Band replaced by Guardian.
Oni Hunter: Hunter replaced by Band.
Oni Fisherman: Cost 5 → 6; Delivery increased from one copy to two.
Oni Shrine Guardian: Healing replaced by Restwake Power.
Oni Fire Dancer: Cost 5 → 4; duplicate Super removed.
Oni Storm Caller: Cost 15 → 5; Power 2200 → 1700; Shielding 800 → 1300.
Oni King: Cost 23 → 22; Collective removed.
Thunder Oni — Storm Queen: Cost 10 → 11; gains Collective.
Blood Moon Oni — Night Huntress: Cost 12 → 14; gains Legacy and Revenant.
Cherry Blossom Oni — Spring Demon: Reincarnation material can come from Universe or Oni.
Dream Oni — Moonlit Enchantress: Cost 10 → 12; gains Legacy and Collective.
Oni Empress — Festival of Demons: Cost 28 → 18; Power 2800 → 2200; Shielding 200 → 800. Monstrous replaced by Collective, Inhuman, and Endurance; Loner remains.
The Oni set also receives flavor text and refreshed card frames, including corrected Oni Drummer artwork.
New battle theme: The Anthrowolves theme, Night of the Athrowolves, is available on the press page and in the Workshop visualizer. Workshop music is now discovered automatically from the music library.
Wallpaper animations: Cards with assigned wallpaper art can trigger animations even when they are not Loners, including Enhancements. Animations also work over an equipped battlefield wallpaper. Glass is the default display mode; the former Default option is now called Foreground.
Smaller screens: Improved menu, collection, campaign, shop, profile, and replay layouts, plus battlefield fitting and touch panning.
Website card browser: Search, filter, and sort using the deck editor's controls, with owned/unowned filtering when signed in. The website also adds a reservation page and account credit-claim flow.
Enemy artwork library: Added 20 Magical Girl and 26 Villainess artworks for use with campaigns.
Try the Anthrowolves in UAT and tell us which transformations earn a place in your toolbox. We'd like to hear about your keyword combinations and any battle sequences that still feel unclear.
