A permanent price cut to $4.67, and a thank you to everyone who paid more

Not a sale, not a weekend thing. This is the new base price for the rest of Early Access, and it comes with a thank you and a small apology.

I had settled on $4.99. Then I asked my kid, who has watched this game get built at the kitchen table for a year, what the number should be. The answer was $4.67, you probably know why the 67.. kids these days
The honest reason behind the cut is less charming. Every piece of art in the game right now is mine, and I am neither an artist nor a composer. I am about to commission both properly. Until they are aboard, the price should match what is actually on deck today.

Saying this now so nobody feels ambushed later: when the commissioned art and new music land, the price rises again, and it rises once more at 1.0. That is the bargain Early Access is supposed to be. Come aboard cheap while is rough, keep every update that follows.
Nothing about your copy changes when the price does. You own it, updates included, for good.

You bought a game from a stranger on the strength of a store page and a trailer, and you are the reason there is money to pay an artist and a composer at all. Thank you. Genuinely.
And I am sorry. There is no getting around the fact that you paid nearly double what the next person will. Steam owns the payment side of this and I have no way to hand anyone the difference back, so I am not going to pretend otherwise.
What I can do is put your name in the game. If you bought before today, come and say so in the Discord, or message @piratetwistgame on any of the socials, and you get a Founding Crew role and your name in the credits under the crew who were here first.
And a spare key to hand a friend. A free Steam key, yours to give to whoever you reckon would like this. The best thing that happens to a game this small is one person telling another, so that key is worth a great deal more in your hands than sitting in my account.
None of this is tied to reviews. Valve does not allow rewards in exchange for reviews and I would not want one bought that way. Leave a review, do not leave one, change the one you left: it makes no difference to any of the above. Your review is yours.
