Version 2.0 is out! This is the biggest update Bulletail has had. A lot of it is under the hood, but you'll feel it the moment the first sniper lines up a shot.
Enemies shoot back. Snipers now fire aimed shots, with a red aim line just before each one so you can dodge. Every boss has its own attack: the Swarm King fires rings of bullets, the Tank Destroyer fires aimed spreads, and the Speed Demon fires quick single shots.
Short grace after a hit. After a bullet hits you, other bullets pass through for a moment, so one volley can't take your whole tail.
Your Steam account on the main menu. Your avatar and name show in the top corner, or a warning if Steam isn't connected.
Proper buttons on the death screen: Play Again and Main Menu.
Compatibility mode. If the game crashes or glitches on your graphics card, pick the "no GPU" launch option to render without it.
The version number now shows on the main menu.
Saves work offline. Progress is always saved on your PC and synced through Steam Cloud when it's available, so you can play anywhere and pick up where you left off.
Better performance, especially with lots of glowing enemies and bullets on screen.
Fonts and icons are built in, so the game looks the same on every PC and text displays properly in all 17 languages.
More of the interface is translated.
Updated Steamworks integration.
Bosses now take a moment after arriving before they attack or use their special ability.
Multishot now fires a three-bullet spread.
Boss rewards are now the same in both modes and scale with the wave.
Weapon switching is gone. The game only ever gave you the pistol, so the number keys, D-pad switching and the weapon slot in the HUD have been removed.
Upgrade cards can be picked with a controller.
Ammo Regen, Rapid Fire, Multishot and Lucky Snake did nothing. They all work now.
Boss Rush always sent the Swarm King. Bosses now rotate properly.
Boss Rush didn't count boss kills, so your bosses defeated stat and the boss no-hit achievement never updated.
The Boss Rush timer kept running while paused.
Boss Rush saved your shortest run as your best time instead of your longest.
The Speed Demon's dash attack never actually moved it.
Having every upgrade maxed out (around wave 41) left you stuck on the upgrade screen.
Quitting on a boss wave and continuing skipped the boss.
Pressing Escape on the upgrade screen could break it.
Releasing the mouse over a menu could leave you firing nonstop.
Powerup timers in the corner didn't count down.
The Shield powerup stopped bosses from using their special abilities.
Pressing Escape in Settings (opened from the pause menu) left Settings on screen while the game kept going.
Taking two hits at the same moment could trigger game over twice.
The HUD showed faintly through the main menu, and the pause text appeared twice.
A low hum kept playing while the game was minimized.
