Tattered Banners Demo · published
Greetings mercenaries,
A core goal of Tattered Banners is building a living world filled with memorable simulated characters. And if eyes are the window to the soul, portraits are the window to character immersion. With that in mind, we’ve been giving character portraits a major upgrade.
As you roam the realm, meeting a haughty noble lord, a scheming merchant, or a dark forest witch should feel distinct at a glance, and we're moving toward that goal one step at a time.
Expanding portrait features also aligns perfectly with one of your most requested features: deeper character customization. And it combines with upcoming armor pieces, which will make it visually obvious when you're speaking with a heavily armored knight versus a humble bookkeeping clerk.
Our origin rework is moving forward, starting with a brand-new selection window. This window lets you choose your starting origin, review which noble houses will begin as allies or enemies, preview unique early-game interactions, and name or randomize your starting squad.
WIP, to be made pretty by an artist soon
Noble houses are getting some well-deserved attention (with plenty more to come in the next few weeks) - guards and retinues now wear armor dyed in their house’s official colors.

Until next time,
