Greetings mercenaries,
The Farmer and Bandit origins are receiving major overhauls over the coming weeks. The goal is to add weight to the starting origin choice, make the opening more theatrical, showcase different playstyles in the world map right out of the gate that use different interactions, and highlight the unique personalities of different noble houses.
To start, the Farmer origin now kicks off with a tactical mission: your farm - under the protection of House Karatheon - comes under attack by bandits who intend to raze it. But are they mere bandits, or mercenaries sent by House Blackmere, a shadowy house steeped in sorcery that seeks to burn Karatheon's lands?
Following the battle, you’ll have an interaction with House Karatheon to flesh out their motives and begin enacting revenge for your destroyed home.
For early-game income, the Farmer origin is given the Escort interaction, letting them safeguard merchants to their destinations for pay. As you might guess, the Bandit origin will feature somewhat less honorable ways to make gold - but more on that later.
This week the House Relations window has been added, allowing you to track exactly who is at war with whom across the realm
This window will be deepened further soon: Houses will begin displaying their individual agendas, introducing a strategic layer where you can actively choose to aid or foil their ambitions.
Until next week, where we'll be sharing more information about the new origins.
