Another HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in the playtest over the weekend and provided feedback / bug reports. If you still have any additional thoughts please please do share, as I’m very eager to focus my efforts around what everyone really wants to see prioritized for the early access release! The discord channels will remain open.
Overall the second playtest seems to have gone quite well. I’m happy to report that aside from a few quick fixes on Friday, stability appeared to be significantly improved from playtest #1 based on your feedback.
There are still more improvements to performance incoming, but it seems that the population controller improvements have significantly reduced fps degradation, and I’ve seen very few reports regarding performance over the weekend.
More onboarding information and status feedback
More information about Map Region / Survival
Interface scaling is highly requested, and I’ll promote this to a higher priority addition
Improved controller interface support is also a must-have, but due to the significant work required, will not be a promoted to high priority until after the early access release
Control locks are still causing issues regularly, breaking cursor and animal interactions
Animals spawned after the first day are not always registered / saved properly
So, with that all laid out, I’m happy to say I’m confident I’ll be able to take most of these refinements in place in preparation for:
A new demo update! (hopefully before the end of next week)
The first open playtest shortly after
A final pass of fixes based on open playtest feedback
If everything goes according to plan, an OFFICIAL early access release date!
