GodWright v1.3.0 is now live!

This is GodWright's largest simulation expansion yet, bringing deeper civilizations, more direct divine control, richer living worlds, and an entire pack of strange creatures and catastrophic powers.

Living Civilizations

  • Genetics and subspecies: Civilized races now inherit persistent genomes, visible phenotypes, diets, fertility, metabolism, stature, pigmentation, adaptations, and mutations.
  • Gene editing: Inspect bloodlines, alter inherited traits, trigger mutations, and manage population limits from the new Gene and Subspecies tools.
  • Cultures and languages: Settlements found, inherit, spread, and diverge cultural and linguistic identities independently.
  • Clans and succession: Political clans have chiefs, members, loyalty, prestige, influence, inherited traits, and succession effects.
  • Deeper faiths: Religions now support rites, laws, magic schools, religious traits, deterministic schisms, and player editing.
  • Recorded history: Important figures and settlement schools author books, while archives preserve rulers, captains, founders, previous names, dated tenures, kills, and deaths.

Divine Intervention

  • Added Summon Rain, Bless Bloodline, Polymorph, Clone, Teleport, Golden Touch, and Uplift.
  • Added Divine Magnet, Trait Rain, Loot Rain, Blood Rain, Antimatter, Grey Goo, Invasion Portal, Mutation Wave, and Awaken Kaiju.
  • Uplift selected animal populations into sapient civilizations capable of founding settlements and participating in the wider world.
  • Directly force wars, peace, rebellions, pacts, vassal oaths, transfers, and border claims from the expanded Realms tools.
  • Achievement-backed progression now unlocks selected creatures and divine powers while preserving access for existing players.

Politics, Armies, and World Laws

  • Rulers pursue visible ambitions such as expanding their realm, winning wars, advancing an age, gaining independence, building wonders, or prospering through trade.
  • Inspect and multi-select armies to review captains, members, formations, readiness, destinations, orders, history, kills, and losses.
  • Toggle independent settlement, kingdom, religion, culture, language, ruling-house, alliance, and army map layers.
  • Expanded World Laws now control diplomacy, alliances, border theft, expansion, armies, hunger, religion, weather life-spawn, disaster classes, and settlement founding.

A Deeper Living World

  • World Eras have expanded from four to ten, including Moon, Chaos, Wonder, Ice, Ash, and Despair phases with concrete simulation effects.
  • Animals now inherit broader trait pools with visible appearances, environmental interactions, status effects, and on-death effects.
  • Ecology now accounts for habitat, diet, special resources, competition, predation, starvation, reproduction, migration, transformations, and under-ice aquatic survival.
  • Added Enchanted Grove and Crystal Fields, two mechanically distinct biomes with unique ecology, resources, weather interactions, movement, and disaster behavior.

Strange Invasions and Transformations

  • Added aliens, UFOs, demons, frost beasts, biomass, evil mages, mushroom hosts, maddened creatures, grey goo, kaiju, and butterflies.
  • Eight deterministic invasion themes launch bounded assaults without allowing populations to grow without limit.
  • Mushroom infection, maddening, biomass, grey goo, and mutation waves can transform and spread through living populations.
  • Awaken Kaiju summons a globally capped spectacle creature that can be possessed and directly controlled, including a timed destructive stomp.
  • Butterflies visibly progress through egg, larva, pupa, and animated adult stages.
  • The new creature pack includes 220 directional idle and movement animation frames.

World Creation and Divine Tools

  • Added Heart, Star, Crescent, and Donut world templates.
  • Added Checker, Stripes, and Grid terrain brushes alongside direct wall painting and the existing patterned terrain tools.
  • Pattern brushes remain seamless and deterministic even across negative world coordinates.

Save Safety and Quality of Life

  • Manual saves now retain a recoverable previous revision.
  • Each world receives three rotating autosave slots with previews and grouped recovery selection.
  • Added corruption checks, atomic save replacement, crash artifacts, and explicit Save & Quit and Autosave & Quit actions.
  • Existing saves remain supported through the current version 15 save format and legacy readers.
  • Localization has been expanded across every shipped language for all new systems and content.

Thank you for playing GodWright and helping shape its future.
