GOD CANDLE: Liquidity Crisis — Market Maker Mode + Run Variety Rework

Liquidity Crisis is the biggest GOD CANDLE update since launch. Two things changed: there's a whole new way to play, and the ten-day run stopped asking you to do the same thing every morning.

NEW MODE: MARKET MAKER

Stop betting on direction. Become the liquidity.

  • Your desk quotes a bid below the price and an ask above it. When a trade prints through your quote, you're filled — and you pocket the spread.
  • Every fill builds inventory. Getting hit on the bid over and over while the price keeps falling? That's toxic flow, and it marks against you every tick.
  • Tighten for flow, widen for chaos, pull your quotes before the print, lean to work your book back to flat, flatten when it's time to run. Flattening costs slippage. Size attracts sharks. Everything costs something.
  • Five sessions of about 40 seconds, escalating from a calm opening book through event risk and meme flow to a final session that ends in a crash, a halt or quad witching. A full run takes about five to seven minutes.
  • Nine desk upgrades to build around: Co-Location, Maker Rebate, Toxic Flow Filter, Risk Engine, Auto-Hedge, Queue Priority, Internalizer, Dark Pool and the Kill Switch.
  • Risk limits with strikes, its own career records, and a five-page primer the first time you sit down at the desk.
  • Keyboard, mouse and controller: LONG/SHORT lean your quotes, CLOSE flattens, the bumpers step your spread.

Find it on the title screen: ◆ MARKET MAKER.

STANDARD RUNS: SPECIAL SESSIONS

About four days of every ten-day run now come with a mandate that changes the job — not just the number.

  • Risk Committee — clear a smaller target without your book sinking past a drawdown line. Cross it and compliance halts your desk.
  • Whipsaw — the tape turns once. Bank a winning long AND a winning short.
  • Three Bullets — three entries all day. Winners pay +20%.
  • Lock-Up — every new position is locked for 8 seconds. Margin calls still fire.
  • Flash Desk — positions auto-close after 3 seconds, fees waived. Scalp.
  • Closing Auction — the market-on-close imbalance prints late. Earn 40% of the day's gain after the auction opens.

Every mandate trims the gain you need and pays a session bonus when you clear it. Miss the mandate and you miss the bell — the failure screen tells you exactly why. Side contracts stay optional. Rookie runs see at most three mandates.

The run scheduler got smarter too: the same mandate never comes back to back, conditions have a cooldown, bosses and conditions that contradict each other don't share a day, and last run's bosses are less likely to headline the next one. The Daily Gauntlet stays seeded — same market, same mandates, for everyone.

A SHARPER BACKROOM

  • Relic offers now lean, softly, toward the build you're already running and the session you're walking into. No guarantees — weird high-roll builds still happen.
  • No more backrooms stacked with three relics from the same family, or two curses at once.
  • Dead offers are gone: the Insider no longer gets pitched a free tip line he already has, and power cards stop showing up when your belt is full.
  • Margin Demon now unlocks the next real leverage tier (3x → 5x → 10x). Its old +1 cap never reached a new leverage button, so it was a pure curse.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • The ticker-pick screen briefs every special session: name, exact win condition, constraint, reward and the session target.
  • Live mandate progress sits under your target; the chart marks the Risk Committee halt line and the auction opening.
  • Starting a new run now discards a run parked on the main menu instead of leaving a stale CONTINUE behind.
  • Controller prompts cover the desk controls on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo layouts.

4 NEW ACHIEVEMENTS — 33 TOTAL

  • All-Weather Fund — Clear four special sessions in a single run.
  • Make the Market — Win a Market Maker run.
  • Clean Book — Win a Market Maker run without a single risk-limit breach.
  • Pennies & Steamrollers — Capture $750,000 of spread in a single Market Maker session.

PATCH NOTES — 1.1.0

New

  • Market Maker mode: five-session alternate run; quote width (Pull / Tight / Normal / Wide), lean, lots, Flatten / Half; risk limit with strikes; nine desk upgrades (two actives); primer; desk records; three achievements.
  • Six special-session mandates in Standard and Endless runs, with a pre-session brief, a live mandate panel, a session bonus and named failure causes.
  • All-Weather Fund achievement.

Changed

  • Run generation: three-day condition cooldown, boss/condition contradiction filter, cross-run boss freshness (never in the Daily Gauntlet).
  • Backroom relic offers weighted by build family and tomorrow's session; family and curse caps; dead-offer filters.
  • Card picks never offer a power card you can't slot, and always include at least one next-day modifier.
  • Desk draft: the Econ Calendar shows up less before scheduled prints begin.
  • Margin Demon unlocks the next leverage tier.

Fixed

  • A run parked on the main menu could be resumed after starting a different run.
  • Margin Demon's leverage bonus had no effect.

Saves — fully compatible. A run in progress continues exactly as it was; the new systems start with your next run. Career records, trophies, Street Cred, achievements and settings are untouched.
Languages — everything in this update ships in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German and Brazilian Portuguese.

The spread is there. The flow is coming. Try not to be the one holding it.
