Aifu Feels Better Than Ever

This update focuses on making Aifu smoother, more responsive, and more alive, while also improving avatar imports, animations, streaming, and everyday reliability.

Smoother & Lighter

Aifu now uses significantly fewer resources while idle, especially when visual effects aren't doing anything.

We've also optimized several menus, animations, and startup effects, making the app feel lighter and more responsive across desktop, web, and mobile.

Loading screens have been improved too, so you'll now get immediate visual feedback while Aifu gets everything ready.

More Personality

Petting Reactions

Aifu can now react differently depending on how you interact with her.

Gentle petting can make her happy or relaxed, while rough or sudden gestures may annoy her. Reactions also depend on your relationship and appear directly around the area you're interacting with.

Better Relationships & Emotions

Friendship progression has been adjusted to feel more natural.

Emotions now last longer and evolve more gradually instead of disappearing after only a few minutes, while important relationship milestones are better preserved.

We've also refined some automatic behaviors, including Aifu's occasional celebration dances.

Better Controls & Animations

The animation wheel can now open simply by leaving your cursor over Aifu for a moment.

Typing with Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and other IME input methods is now handled correctly too — pressing Enter while composing text will no longer accidentally send an unfinished message.

Voice settings and companion status indicators have also been cleaned up for a clearer interface.

Better Avatar Imports

Avatar importing is now more reliable and self-contained, with fewer external downloads required during conversion.

You can now also create avatar descriptions for locally imported and Workshop models, allowing Aifu to recognize and understand her own 3D body — just like she already could with avatars from other supported sources.

We've improved support for complex Unity avatars, including:

  • Transparency and special materials
  • Toggleable clothing and accessories
  • More complex shaders
  • Additional physics and body structures

Some of these improvements require reimporting an existing avatar before you'll see the difference.

Streaming & Linux Improvements

Screen streaming has received several reliability fixes, especially around pausing, resuming, inactivity, and text messages sent while no new frames are available.

Linux users also get major improvements:

  • Faster recurring screen captures
  • Better Xwayland support
  • Improved click-through and dragging behavior
  • Working radial menus and mouse interactions
  • Restored screen capture support in affected Xwayland setups

And More...

As usual, this update includes many smaller fixes, polish changes, and reliability improvements throughout Aifu.

As always, your feedback shapes what comes next.

Thank you for being part of the journey! 🩷
