GuitarSesh Launches This Weekend

Hey all,

Big news — Valve has approved GuitarSesh for release, and I'm aiming to launch this weekend.

I've been building this for five years. That whole time, I've been the only person who could actually play it — and I'm done being the only one holding it. It's time to put it in your hands.

Between now and launch I'm doing one final hands-on pass, guitar in hand, working through the backlog of fixes and features I've been polishing since the original June 12 date shifted. I've tested everything I could without an instrument; this last pass is the real-guitar run it deserves before I ship.

After five years, I'm genuinely excited — and a little disbelieving — to finally share all of it. A lot of what made it in is covered in my recent devlogs, and the rest you'll get to play very soon.

Thanks for wishlisting and for waiting. See you this weekend.

— Kyle

Until now, any in-tune note counted while its window was open. A string left ringing from an earlier pick would keep regi…Game update3 Jul 2026Introducing the Public Beta Branch — Try Test Builds EarlyI've set up a public beta branch for GuitarSesh where I'll stage builds for testing before they go live for everyone. How it works The beta branch always runs either the same build as the default version or a newer one that's being tested. Opting in is low-commitment — you can switch back to the default version anytime. When beta is ahead, you're previewing the next build before it goes live; w…
