This is Kim Jihoon, Director at Project Moon.
I would like to explain my intent behind making "Canto 10 available after clearing Canto 1."
Clearing Canto 1 unlocks only Canto 10, and clearing Canto 10 does not automatically clear Cantos 2 to 9.
Upon accessing Canto 10, the following disclaimer will be displayed in-game:
◆ Main Story Canto 10 can be played without clearing previous story chapters.
◆ Canto 10 contains spoilers up to Intervallo VII-2.
◆ During Canto 10, Meursault will have access to certain Support Identities and E.G.O (at Uptie/Threadspinning Tier 4).
◆ During Canto 10, all allied Identities, including Meursault, will be guaranteed at least Uptie 3 (E.G.O Threadspinning Tier will not be affected).
◆ If you have not cleared the previous chapter by the time you have cleared Canto 10, various content that requires Main Story progression (Mirror Dungeon, Refraction Railway, Luxcavation, Reflectrial, etc.) will not be unlocked until each respective prerequisite is cleared.
◆ For any future content that requires clearing Canto 10 as the prerequisite, please clear both Canto 10 and Stage 9.5-26 to unlock.
My reasoning for making this early unlock function is as follows: to provide new Managers with an easy and early way to access this new gameplay style we have prepared for Canto 10.
My thought process was that if new players have enjoyed the gameplay of Canto 10, more people would be motivated to return to Canto 2 and enjoy Limbus Company in its entirety.
Therefore, if players who have not cleared Chapter 9.5-2 (Intervallo VII-2) were to access Canto 10, the game will display the above pop-up window warning about spoilers for the preceding chapters.
In addition, players will be provided with temporary Level/Uptie boosts exclusive to Canto 10 and Support Identities, as described above.
Our goal is to allow our users to play up to <Part 1> of Canto 10 without any time investment in upgrades. Any subsequent content following that part will require an in-depth understanding of specific combat gimmicks, strategies, and an upgraded loadout.
As this is our first time attempting something like this, we will be sure to keep a close eye on various concerns and possible issues in the days leading up to the Canto 10 update.
Also, if any part of that process requires additional elaboration, we will be informing you via a separate notice.
