Puk-puk! Over 7 years ago, I started development on AutoForge as a "shorter" game project. This has been a long time coming but we wanted to build the best game we could. With the 1.0 release we are bringing many huge changes - so much so that I almost considered skipping straight to a 2.0 version (I am joking)!
We have touched on some of these changes in our last post about item transportation rework and the post before on resource veins and balance rework. Today, let's talk about NPCs and quests!
James has been hard at work dreaming up a lovely cast of characters, locations to travel and things to do. Stop by to visit Yuki and Yota, the keepers of Sanctuary, say hi to Blaik, an adventurous "Treasure Hunter", help Mohki with his latest brew and assist The Great Kalibarn with an utmost important task!
With 1.0, AutoForge will be gaining more than 20 new characters to meet and greet, with over a dozen side-quests to pursue. You'll find these friends-you-haven't-met yet populating new landmarks, filling out some of the quieter existing areas (why was nobody having fun at Mohki's???) or off on their own adventures. To stay on top of all these escapades, the recently added Journal from 0.7 finally gets to do its thing and help log any absurd requests you might come across. So, while you're out there exploring for new resource nodes, stop by and say hi if you see a friendly face! Who knows, you may even be rewarded most handsomely...
As we mentioned a few months back, we are still planning to do a slight price increase. Originally, it was planned for last month but, as with most things in game development, it has been delayed a bit. Now that we have set a date, we have decided to do one last discount sale starting now, for one week and then afterwards, on Friday, September 11th, the planned price increase will come into effect. So please enjoy this one last chance to pick the game up on a deep discount before the adjustment.
As 1.0 takes form we will be looking to start a closed beta of the release update before too long. The focus will be getting feedback on all of the recent changes as well as tackling the larger issues that have cropped up from them. Once we have resolved those we will be looking to open up the beta testing to more community members. The best place to be involved in any of this is through our Discord server.
We are truly excited to share with all of you what we have been working on! In the meantime, we will continue with smaller announcements and teasers, as we approach October 28th.
