Hey everyone! 👋
We’re excited to bring you a new update for GunsBox VR!
This time, we’ve made a major upgrade under the hood: the game has been migrated to a newer version of the Unity engine.
While this might not be the most visible change at first glance, it’s an important step forward for GunsBox VR. Updating the engine gives us access to newer technologies, improved performance and stability, better platform support, and a more solid foundation for future updates.
This also means we can take advantage of improvements to Unity’s rendering, memory management, VR support, and development tools — making it easier for us to continue improving the game and bringing new features to GunsBox VR.
We’ve also put a lot of work into improving the way you grab and interact with objects in GunsBox VR.
The grabbing and snapping systems have been thoroughly reworked from the ground up, with many problematic and inconsistent behaviors fixed and rewritten.
We’ve also started working on something we’ve wanted to add for a long time — a proper VR weapon training system.
The first training elements have now been implemented, helping players understand how to handle and operate weapons in VR. The goal is to make GunsBox VR more accessible to new players while also providing a clear introduction to the game’s interaction mechanics.
This is only the beginning, though.
We’re planning to continue expanding the training system with more interactive lessons and tutorials, covering different weapons, mechanics, and VR interactions.
We’ve expanded the in-game shop with new weapons, items, and equipment for you to discover and add to your collection.
Here’s what’s new:
A classic revolver with a luxurious twist. Silver Engraved SW 629 combines a polished silver finish with detailed engraving, giving this powerful revolver a distinctive and elegant look.
A rugged tactical look for the STM 15. Camo STM 15 features a camouflage finish that gives the rifle a practical military-inspired appearance while keeping its aggressive character.
A deadly combination of attitude and style. GMR15 Toxic Kiss features a striking toxic-themed finish with a bold design that gives the rifle a unique and unmistakable look.
Built for chaos. HK MP5 Riot gives the iconic MP5 a rugged tactical makeover, featuring a hard-edged finish inspired by riot-control equipment.
Forged in fire. Scorpion EVO 3 A1 Magma Core features a blazing, volcanic-inspired finish that gives this compact SMG a fierce and energetic look.
A bold twist on a competition classic. STI Shooter Master Pop Riot combines the precision-focused look of a race pistol with a bright, rebellious style that refuses to blend in.
A classic with a worn-in character. Colt 1911 Faded Freedom features a weathered finish inspired by faded patriotic colors, giving this iconic pistol a rugged, battle-worn appearance.
The Walther PPQ M2 Q5 is a competition-oriented version of the PPQ platform, designed with sport shooting in mind. It combines the PPQ’s ergonomic grip and crisp trigger with a longer slide and a distinctive optic-ready setup.
The MK47 brings a modern twist to the classic 7.62 platform. With its distinctive design and powerful character, it offers a different feel from the traditional rifles in its class.
Finally, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support GunsBox VR and stays with us.
Your feedback, ideas, and support motivate us to keep improving the game and pushing it forward. We know there’s still a lot we want to add and improve, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
More weapons, more features, more improvements, and more new things are coming in future updates.
Thank you for being part of GunsBox VR. Stay with us — there’s much more to come!
