AI Opponents Are Now Real Participants in Every Race

Hello, racers!

In this update, we have significantly reworked one of the key systems in Synthwave Burnout — AI opponent movement.

Previously, their behavior was more scripted. They challenged the player, created tension, and played their part on the track, but they did not always feel like real participants in the race.

That has now changed.

Opponents now use physics-based movement, making their behavior feel much more dynamic, natural, and unpredictable.

Real Participants in the Race

AI opponents now exist in the game world as physical objects.

They interact with the road, react to collisions, push the player’s car, interfere with overtaking attempts, and create unexpected situations on the track.

Every race now feels tighter and more intense. A mistake, collision, or failed overtake can have a significant impact on the final result.

What Has Changed

✅ The AI opponent movement system has been completely reworked
✅ Opponents now use physics-based movement
✅ Collisions feel more natural and impactful
✅ Opponent vehicles interact more realistically with the track
✅ Races are now more dynamic and unpredictable
✅ The physics of the player’s car have also been improved
✅ Vehicle stability during collisions has been enhanced

More Chaos on the Track

Opponents no longer simply follow a predetermined path.

They can affect the player’s movement, collide with each other, and become part of the chaos unfolding on the track. As a result, every race feels more alive and can develop in completely different ways.

We will continue improving opponent behavior, vehicle physics, and the overall racing experience.

Thank you to everyone who plays Synthwave Burnout, follows the project, and helps us make the game better.

See you on the neon tracks!
