🛡️ Enemy Damage
Developer Note: We want defensive investment to give you more room for mistakes, not make enemies hit proportionally harder. Less-defensive builds are protected from extreme single hits, while tanks still have reasons to dodge dangerous attacks.
Basic attacks now have stricter damage limits. Even on the highest difficulty, a weak Skeleton can no longer kill a fully protected player with a single basic hit. Heavy attacks and clearly telegraphed abilities can still deal significantly more damage.
Life, Barrier, and Overlife now provide greater protection against telegraphed attacks. These attacks no longer remove the same percentage of defenses from every build, meaning that increasing your maximum defenses will reduce the percentage lost to the same hit.
For example, a telegraphed attack might remove 40% of a 3,000-point defense pool but only 15% of a 20,000-point pool. These values are only examples and are not fixed damage amounts.
