Hi Bastards!
We’ve released a small update focused on player feedback, usability, and accessibility.
Mission location information in Ship Info > Jobs is now much easier to recognize as an interactive button.
Previously, the yellow location text could easily be mistaken for normal text. The new design makes it much clearer that you can click it to locate the mission target on the appropriate map.
Mission boards can now warn you when a contract may require a particularly long journey.
The game estimates travel time using your current ship and its actual cruise performance. If the estimated travel time exceeds approximately one minute, the mission will be marked as a:
LONG-DISTANCE CONTRACT
The mission screen will also tell you when the objective is located in another region or another sector.
This means a mission is no longer considered “long-distance” simply because it crosses a region border. A fast ship may consider the same contract perfectly reasonable while a slower ship may receive a warning.
Engine mount counts in the Shipyard are no longer displayed as a simple “higher is better” comparison.
A ship with more engines is not necessarily faster. Ship mass, speed, acceleration, handling, upgrades and other modifiers all affect mobility.
This also prepares the UI for the more detailed engine system planned for a future update.
A new accessibility option has been added under Video Settings:
Reduce Star Flicker: ON / OFF
When enabled, the game stabilizes the two main parallax star layers to reduce the small shimmering/flickering effect that some players reported during movement.
The option is disabled by default, so the original visual presentation remains unchanged unless you choose to enable it.
Thanks to everyone who has been reporting issues and sharing feedback on the Steam forums.
We’re continuing to improve Ore Bastards step by step, and more updates are on the way.
See you in the void.
