Update 1.0.1 — Ghost 2.0, multiplayer data & quality of life

This started as a small quality-of-life patch and grew into the biggest update NRE has had. Thanks to everyone who reported issues and asked for features in the first days of 1.0!

👻 Ghost map, completely rebuilt

  • The track is now drawn as a real ROAD (asphalt band with edges), not a thin line. On LMU the road uses the sim's real track centre and real width, point by point.
  • Load any lap from your telemetry archive (LMU DuckDB / ACC MoTeC imports) as a ghost: it replays the lap at its REAL recorded speed. Pick session and lap in the Ghost window, or it auto-loads the reference you chose in the live telemetry window.
  • The ghost's line stays drawn on track, coloured by its real pedals: red where it brakes, yellow where it lifts, green where it accelerates. Your own live trail is coloured the same way — drive over the ghost line and instantly see where you brake too early or get on the throttle too late.
  • Two cars on the map: white = the loaded lap, cyan = you, both drawn as top-down cars facing their real direction of travel.
  • Ghost HUD: throttle %, brake %, speed of the ghost AND your speed, plus a steering wheel that turns with the ghost's real recorded steering.
  • Mouse-wheel ZOOM up to real scale (the view follows your car): a 2-3 metre difference in line is clearly visible. Smooth camera — no more jitter.
  • Your best lap, the road, the track width and the kerbs are saved PER CIRCUIT and are there forever: one full lap on a track and the map is yours in every future session.
  • Real KERBS: NRE detects when your wheels actually touch a kerb (surface type on LMU, kerb vibration on ACC) and paints red/white kerbs exactly there, on the correct side, lap after lap.
  • The ghost restarts every time YOU cross the line — a true ghost race against your best self.

🏁 Race against ANYONE

  • RECORD AN OPPONENT (LMU): pick any driver in your session from the new opponent list and press REC — when they cross the line, their lap becomes your ghost, with their real trajectory and real speed. Chase the fastest guy on the server, corner by corner.
  • SHARE GHOST LAPS WITH FRIENDS: new Exp/Imp buttons export your best lap (true trajectory included) to a small .nreghost file. Send it to a friend, they import it and race your ghost on their PC — and vice versa.

📊 Live standings data (online)

  • FIXED: POSITION was wrong in online multiclass sessions — it now shows your CLASS position (what the sim shows on screen), exactly right in mixed Hypercar/GT3 grids.
  • NEW "Gap P1" in the Lap Times panel: live gap to your class leader while you drive. In race: the real on-track gap (with +laps if you are lapped). In practice/qualifying: the gap between your best and the class best. Shows P1 when the leader is you.

🪟 External windows: fixed and simplified

  • FIXED: the Driving Coach 🚦 and Ghost 👻 windows could become impossible to move, resize or close (a WebView2 input bug in borderless secondary windows).
  • Every external window (Driving Coach, Ghost, Live telemetry, detached panels) is now a real Windows window with a native title bar: drag it anywhere, resize from any edge, close with the X. Always on top of the game.
  • One-click toggle: click the window's icon (🚦 👻 📈) in the top bar to open it — click the same icon again to close it instantly.
  • Position and size are remembered per window and can never end up off-screen.
  • OVERLAY MODE: double-click the Ghost map and its background disappears — only the road, the lines and the cars float over your game, click-through, while you drive. Ctrl+mouse-wheel adjusts transparency per window.

🌍 Language: pick once, change any time

  • The language selector now appears ONLY on first launch — your choice is saved from then on.
  • NEW "Lg" button in the top bar: switch between English, Italiano, Français, Deutsch, Español and Português at any moment. The interface reloads instantly — no restart needed.
  • Every new feature is fully translated in all 6 languages, and the built-in tutorial has been updated to cover all of the above (including a new step for the language button).

🔧 Other fixes

  • FIXED: startup error "SteamAPI_Init not available" on some installations (new Steamworks SDK compatibility).
  • FIXED: the G-force ball moved BACKWARD under braking — physics says your body goes forward, and now the ball does too (and the longitudinal G sign matches the sim HUDs).
  • FIXED: the track map was mirrored left/right compared to the sim.
  • The running version is shown correctly in the bottom bar (v1.0.1).
  • Cleaner windows: removed the old in-window drag/close/resize controls — the native title bar does it all.
  • Faster, lighter live data flow between the app and its windows; build and packaging improvements for smoother Steam updates.

As always: report anything odd with the "REPORT PROBLEM NOW" button inside the app. See you on track! 🏁

Game update24 Aug 2026Update 1.0.3 — The Loop ClosesNRE was built to work like a race engineer: look at the data, change something, see if it helped, learn. Until now the last two steps never happened. Not because they were badly written — because the pipe between them was never connected. Driving wrote nothing to the database. With no laps on record, the A/B comparison had nothing to compare. With no comparison, no result ever came back. So the…Game update17 Aug 2026Neuralic Race Engineer 1.0.2— Know Your CarUpdate 1.0.2 — Know Your Car This update fixes the single most damaging class of bug NRE had: it could work on the wrong car. Not visibly, not with an error — quietly. Your setups, your archive, the car limits, even the brain's accumulated history could all end up filed under a car you were not driving. The root cause was that NRE had no single source of truth for which car you are actually in…Game update16 Aug 2026Neuralic Race Engineer 1.0.2 — The Honest BrainUpdate 1.0.2 — The Honest Brain This update rebuilds the decision core of NRE around one principle: your engineer must EARN the right to touch your setup. It learns the track, proves the problem is repeatable, proposes ONE change — and never writes anything without your consent. Three things changed everything else. It now runs on any PC , wherever you installed the game. It ships with the real…
