Transmission // v0.6.4 Deployment Complete
Pilots,
Congratulations. Another software update has survived extensive testing. By "extensive testing," I mean letting you repeatedly fly directly into danger until the weak points became statistically obvious.
Your continued willingness to endanger expensive spacecraft has resulted in the following improvements.
Hangar
- Modules can now be shared between all compatible ships. Ship-specific modules remain... ship specific. I admire your optimism if you expected otherwise.
Objective Rewards
- Your current Scrap is now displayed during reward selection.
- Scrap can now be spent on Minor Upgrades instead of sacrificing a Major Upgrade.
- You may purchase one Minor Upgrade per reward screen.
- Minor Upgrade costs increase with each purchase and scale with Sector difficulty.
- Equipped Power Cards are now clearly marked, including how many copies are already equipped. This should reduce accidental poor decisions. It will not eliminate them.
Workshop
- You can now lock items with Right Click or the North Face Button (Y / Triangle).
- Locked items cannot be salvaged, forged or included in re-rolls.
- Use the same input again to unlock them.
- Added Salvage All, which stages every unlocked and unequipped item for salvage.
- Added Forge T1, Forge T2 and Forge T3 buttons that automatically fill the forge with eligible items.
- The Forge Master has reviewed recent economic reports and determined you have been enjoying discounted prices for far too long. Forging now costs more.
Commander Nodes
- Commander Nodes no longer lock out Signals.
- They are active from the beginning of each mission.
- Commander Threat now increases as you complete Combat Objectives and Patrols.
- Threat scales encounters up to Level 20.
- After Threat 10, Empowered mechanics begin appearing and continue scaling to maximum threat.
Patrols
- Patrols now have their own Threat Level.
- Defeating Patrols makes future Patrols more dangerous.
- Patrol activity also increases Commander Threat.
- Patrols no longer reward Scrap, Dust, Modules or Boosters. They still provide XP and in-run upgrades.
- Elite Patrol encounters have moved from Signals to Ambush Patrols.
- Empowered Patrols begin appearing after Threat 10.
Difficulty
- Reduced the difficulty of the Empowerment training mission.
- Difficulty scaling has been reworked across Signals for a more consistent experience.
- Threat labels have been removed from Signal nodes.
- Combat, Reactor and other Signals now follow comparable scaling rules.
- Veteran and Elite enemies with additional stats now have more distinct visuals.
- Early progression should feel more approachable, while greed remains appropriately punishable.
- Commander Nodes, Patrols and Derelict Vaults now inherit this new scaling before applying their own mechanics.
- Opening additional Vaults will continue increasing difficulty. Greed remains a valid strategy. Survival is not guaranteed.
- A soft cap on additional projectiles has been added to improve stability.
Sector Notifications
- Sector notifications have been redesigned to be more visible.
- The total number of notifications has been significantly reduced. Your combat performance should provide enough distractions already.
Signal Updates
Escort
- Escort routes are now more dynamic.
- Escort ships now consume fuel.
- Fuel can be collected throughout the map or recovered from destroyed enemies.
- You are now responsible for keeping the escort supplied. Please try not to lose the fuel immediately.
Salvage
- Reduced the amount of salvage required for completion.
- Added two mission variants:
- Standard guarded salvage clusters.
- Tether Salvage, where recovered cargo must be tethered to the extraction zone before it expires.
HUD & UI
- Updated Drone and Beacon HUD elements.
- Achievements have been reorganized:
- Unclaimed achievements now have their own section.
- Locked achievements are greyed out.
Booster Packs now include an Open All button. Your clicking finger may now recover.Ship Balance
Oracle Droneframe
- Field Recovery Bay — Restores one spent Drone after every completed encounter.
- Twin Deployment — Allows two Drone activations during a single encounter.
Miscellaneous
- Slow-motion kills are now disabled by default.
- If you had already chosen to enable them, your preference has been preserved. Apparently some Pilots enjoy dramatic explosions more than operational efficiency.
Final Directive
The simulation has been recalibrated. Your survival odds have improved slightly.
Do not mistake this for permission to become reckless.
Although... statistically speaking, many of you will.
Good luck, Pilots.
