Thank you for a great first week of early access. I've read all your feedback about the gameplay — don't hesitate to post on the Steam forum if you encounter any problems or have a suggestion. I'd also really appreciate it if you left a review on the Steam page, it would be super helpful!
I'd like to take some time to share the roadmap of what's to come for Clickonomy :)
The current top priority (as you'll see below in the patch notes) is the new player experience, and making sure players aren't too lost when first launching the game.
Back to the game — here's a big update that will change the early game a bit. This is a first attempt at revamping the new player experience, and I'd love to hear your feedback on it. The second important addition is a new Codex screen that will help completionists through their journey!
New guide tutorial:
Added an "immersive" option to the welcome message
Immersive mode is unselected by default
Immersive mode: no guide pop-ups, no controls HUD
Non-immersive mode: guide pop-ups, controls HUD
The "Controls HUD" option button in settings has been replaced with the "Immersive mode" button
Guide pop-ups now show information at the top of the screen depending on the action the player is doing
These pop-ups can be hovered over to show all the information
Guides are also readable on the left side of the scanner
Pop-ups will change automatically depending on the player's progress
Guide pop-ups now show which order task is associated with them
New icons illustrating the scanner's left and right sides have been added
The current guide pop-up reopens when coming back to the game
Click on a pop-up to make it disappear
For existing players, if you want to experience the new tutorial, you will need to start a fresh game (check the settings to erase your progression).
New codex screen:
Added a new Codex screen showing all the discoveries made and the ones still to be found
Press "Tab" to open it at any time
Discovered content is shown in clear images
Undiscovered content is shown as dark silhouettes
New content:
Added 4 new gems to collect
2 common gems
1 rare gem
1 mythic gem
Added 1 new ore resource
Added a new type of resource that can spawn underground
Balancing:
Containers are now permanent, even after being sold
Sold containers return to their previous position
The price of new containers now depends on the number of containers owned and your leaf level
Quality of life:
Added a music volume slider
Bugfix:
Fixed gemstone spawn rate at launch
Adjusted world luminosity when getting a new gem, for better visibility
Fixed a bug where the container could damage resources when first spawned
