Greetings, Gemblades!
Thanks to all your awesome feedback, I've been full of ideas for ways to make the game even better!
The next patch will be rather earth-shattering and bring along a lot of exciting changes to some of the less played cards in the meta.
We need to talk about the Emeralds.
I agree that the faction is lacking behind the other two currently, but I'm hoping all of this will change with the upcoming patch and bring them up to pair with their counterparts by focusing them more on using familiars or vanilla cards to empower their strategy.
This doesn't mean that Ruby and Sapphire won't get any attention though. Some of their current cards like Bearzerker, Harbinger, or Illusionist have interesting designs, but they are not very well placed around the other cards surrounded them, so they would also be getting some work done.
And merging...
Many people have been very confused about what merging is and how it works. I meant for it to be an easter egg which would naturally occur through gameplay, but it seems it mostly works to confuse new players, so I will be adding a special icon at the top left of each Gemblade which is part of a merge to help you along.
Speaking of merging!
The next patch will also include three new merge combinations, featuring the long-awaited Harpy Queen, you could probably already guess which cards you're going to need to create her.
Oh, and the Leaderboards!
With the upcoming balance changes and some of the cards being redesigned into more exciting alternatives, the current Leaderboard scores would end up being invalidated after the update.
So alongside it, all six of the current leaderboards will be reset and allow you to compete fresh with the new meta!
Normally, resets would not be this rapid, but the current situation is really asking for it as opposite of the cards that are asking to be refined are sitting other cards which are currently slightly too powerful and contributing to a very high-rolley meta.
