4 months ago we previewed our New Science Game with just five starting cards. The idea was simple, combine two to three cards, to discover an existing or a new card. These are the recipes. Behind the scenes, we use AI to evaluate every recipe. If the combination doesn't already exist, AI creates it and then generates the artwork. It's the first time we've used live AI in our games, and players have been exploring this system ever since. Our players get to create new cards from whatever recipe they want, and the system decides whether the result is an existing card or a brand-new one.
Today, that exploration reached a milestone. 30,000 cards, all discovered by players and created in real time.
The 30,000th card was discovered at 02:24 CEST on 5 August 2026, when a player combined Bone Carver with Clothing and produced a new card, Bone Button. Nobody had made this card before. Like every card in New Science, it wasn't written by a designer or shipped in a patch, it emerged from a player's reasoning and the AI systems that support the game.
New Science is built around human ingenuity. You begin in the Stone Age and work your way through 16 ages, discovering cards as you go. There is no single way to play. Every player has their own strategy. Some play solo. Others form teams. So far almost 700 people have played our New Science demo, and today one of them reached the 30,000 card milestone.
The 10,000th card was created on 11 June. The 20,000th on 19 July. The 30,000th card took just 17 days. Players are now discovering close to 600 new cards every day.
How many cards can we find? The sky is the limit. Is there an end to New Science Game? No one knows. A better question is, is there a limit to human ingenuity? We know the answer to that for sure, there is no limit. We have created a game where possibilities are endless.
Reaching 30,000 cards created through player combinations is no small feat. We're proud of our community for being curious, inventive, and for continuing to shape the game with their discoveries and feedback. Here's to the next 10,000 cards and to our amazing players.
