Hello! Alex here, back with another packed update! I know it's been quite a while since my last patch - life has been a bit consuming as of late - but I've finally reached a place where I'd like to release some of the changes I've been working on. This update is designed to add more build variety, improve performance, better the UX, and add polish to the game visually and mechanically.

Visual and Performance Updates

Lighting is something that some people have mastered, I have not... but I did take a stab at improving the visuals of effects and lighting of the levels in general. While I anticipate making more polish changes - I'm pretty pleased with the results. Additionally - I updated almost all of the landscape materials used, which now look much better aesthetically.

Item Updates

Picking up items was always a hassle. Toggling item names helps, but still needs some work. To take a step in the right direction, items on the ground are now visually easier to identify and click. Additionally, I've added a fun new mechanic - Chance on Hit effects! These can be found on select unique armors and weapons.

All Changes

  • Updated attack speed - agility will now increase attack speed and speed affecting effects will now work properly
  • Updated ground item meshes and glow
  • Updated landscape materials
  • Fixed an issue in multiplayer where character customizations would not load correctly for joining players, especially female characters
  • Updates to lighting
  • Updates to performance
  • Added on hit effects to weapons and armors
  • Fixed issue in PvP not allowing players to use some abilities
  • Fixed some issues with meshes clipping or scaling incorrectly on the character
  • Fixed some UI bugs that prevented user input when clicking
  • Sped up ability tooltip fade in effect to improve responsiveness
  • Fixed some ability and effect descriptions and tooltips
  • Changed left click to now open context menus on items in stores and inventories
  • Changed right click to equip/buy/sell/use items in stores and inventories
  • Changes to some melee animations
  • Changes to some ability effect animations
  • Added outlines on hover for characters, items, and interactable objects
  • Some level layout changes
  • Added button link to Discord
  • Added a credits window to the main menu
  • Added a developer splash screen on game launch
  • Probably more that I've forgotten about by now...

Thank you again, so much, for playing. A final note - I did make it easier to join the Discord with a functional button that links to it! (I know, I took way too long to implement this...) I am very responsive there and it's the best place to let me know about suggestions or bugs!

This patch aims to greatly improve the UX by increasing UI capabilities (such as dragging Abilities around the Action Bar) and by fixing a bunch of UI related quirks and bugs. The UI should also feel like it's had a fresh coat of paint as the font has finally been changed. This should be another big step in the right direction to remove any frustrating controls or gameplay. In t…
