Thank you for the reviews and discussions since the last patch. Most of this update came straight from them.
The road has gotten a lot busier.
Seventeen new encounters have been added across Beggar’s Road, bringing much more variety to what can happen between towns. Some appear only deeper into a run. Others remember what you have done and who is traveling with you.
There are also four new kinds of enemy waiting on the road.
A much wider cast of faces and names for the people who join you, adding more variety to the companions you meet from run to run.
For those who found the road too kind, Hard Mode is now available.
You start poorer, your party eats more, honest work pays less, and every enemy is a step tougher from the first day.
Hard Mode can be selected in Settings, and each run keeps the difficulty it began on.
A clearer introduction. After the opening, the game now explains how wounds, rest, and hunger work, how your stats grow, and where to find work before you set off.
The introduction can be replayed at any time from the menu, and you can choose in Settings whether it appears on future runs.
A visual pass on the map screen, including the meters, buttons, and menu.
Thanks again for all the feedback and support. We’ll keep working to make the road a little longer, stranger, and harder to survive.
We’re also excited to be taking part in Steam’s Party-Based RPG Fest starting September 14. Hope to see some new travelers on the road.
