The Ultrawide Update β€” Pirate Twist now fills every inch of 21:9 and 32:9

Pirate Twist v1.1.1 β€” the Ultrawide Update πŸ–₯οΈβš“

If you sail on an ultrawide monitor, this one's for you. Until today, Pirate Twist on a 21:9 or 32:9 screen was honestly a mess β€” menus blown up and cut off, the expedition chart huddled in the middle of the parchment, end-screens stretched like old sailcloth. That's fixed. All of it.

πŸ–₯️ Every screen, the full width

  • Every menu and screen now scales correctly at 21:9, 32:9, and anything in between β€” nothing cut off, nothing oversized, from the main menu to the pause screen.

  • The animated main menu seascape extends edge to edge β€” the waves, the island, the drifting clouds now span the whole horizon with no seams.

  • The expedition chart spreads across the full parchment β€” node columns fill the sheet instead of crowding the middle.

  • Port screens keep their designed proportions β€” the painted backdrops run full-bleed while the content stays composed.

  • Combat gets an honest wider view β€” more ocean, same fight; the HUD spans the full strip.

🎨 The end-screens got real paintings, not stretched ones

The victory ceremonies and the Ship Lost screen are painted compositions β€” a gold frame on a parchment, floating in a seascape. Stretching those to 32:9 made the frames twice as wide as they should be. So we didn't stretch them: we extended the paintings themselves. The sunset sea now continues past the frame, the storm rolls on with its lightning, the celebration on the beach carries to both edges β€” and the frame stays a frame.

πŸ“ Nothing else moved

16:9 is pixel-identical to what shipped, and the Steam Deck's 16:10 was re-verified along the way. If your screen was already fine, nothing changes for you.

πŸ™ A word of thanks β€” and an apology

This update exists because GeekDadKevin hit this on his 5120x1440 monitor and took the time to write it up clearly on the forums β€” and then waited, for days, while his thread sat unanswered. That's on us: we missed the discussion entirely, and a report that good deserved a same-day reply. Kevin β€” you did everything right, we're sorry we left you hanging. The moment we found your post, this became the only thing we worked on; every screen above traces back to your report. Thank you for the patience and the write-up. This update is yours.

If an ultrawide screen kept you from enjoying Pirate Twist, now's the time to weigh anchor again.

Fair winds,

BTG Labs

Found something broken? The fastest route to a fix is the Discord #bug-reports β€” every report gets logged in the ship's ledger.

Community9 Sep 2026A permanent price cut to $4.67, and a thank you to everyone who paid morePirate Twist is now $4.67, permanently βš“ Not a sale, not a weekend thing. This is the new base price for the rest of Early Access, and it comes with a thank you and a small apology. πŸ’° Why $4.67 Β· I had settled on $4.99. Then I asked my kid, who has watched this game get built at the kitchen table for a year, what the number should be. The answer was $4.67 , you probably know why the 67.. kids…Game update4 Sep 2026Update v1.4.3: the sea has weather, and rakes hit the end you aimed atEarly Access Update v1.4.3 βš“ Two updates went out quietly last month. v1.4.1 and v1.4.2 were both live within days of each other and neither got a post, because at the time they read like housekeeping. Looking at them next to what landed this week, they do not. So all three come ashore here, and if your last voyage was v1.4.0 there is a fair amount below you have not seen. πŸŒ₯️ The sky moves now…Major update21 Aug 2026Update v1.4.0 β€” six captains, six ships, and a tutorial that waits for youEarly Access Update v1.4.0 βš“ Three updates have been riding at anchor waiting on one another. Enough of that β€” they all come ashore today. A word on why they queued up. Pirate Twist is made by one person: me, in the evenings, around a wife and two kids who can now identify a cannon reload by ear through a closed door. So the work lands in waves rather than a steady drip. The playtest crew has b…
