Major Update — Final Refinements

Coming June 25, 2026

This update may not be the largest in terms of new content, but it marks an important milestone for Rebellion and brings a final layer of refinement to the game.

Improved Starting Equipment

After dying, a new run will now begin with either:

  • A broken sword, or

  • A random weapon and shield previously purchased from the market

This makes each restart more varied and rewarding while providing a smoother overall experience.

Leveling up early in the game has become easier.

  • Now, the experience required to level up is less than before, making the start of the game more balanced.

Localized Dialogue Text

Dialogue subtitles are now localized, while the original English voice acting and timing remain unchanged.

UI and UX Improvements

Several smaller improvements have been made throughout the game, including clearer text, interface refinements, and an updated main-menu image.

Reconstructing the Lost Source Code

The original source code was lost after devastating floods affected my state, city, and neighborhood for around 30 days.

Recovering Rebellion required reconstructing much of its source code from the existing game. Although this work is mostly invisible during gameplay, it made this update—and the continued preservation of the game—possible.

This will likely be the final major refinement update for Rebellion, at least for a long time. Thank you to everyone who has played and supported the game throughout its journey.
