Hi, Ells&Pills is here!

This update includes the following game improvements:

  • Reworked the game settings menu.
Since the menu has grown significantly since the game's release and everything barely fit on a single screen, I've split all the options into several categories: Game, Graphics, and Sound.
  • Added a frame rate limit option in the graphics settings.
You can now adjust this value separately, with choices including: Unlimited, 30, 60, 120, 144, and 240 FPS.
  • Added a camera style option in the gameplay settings.
I personally love the image distortion you can get by fine-tuning the Panini projection—it looks quite immersive. However, the game looks just as cool with a bodycam-style distortion, so now you can play with that option too.Additionally, the original Panini projection distortion requires a higher rendering resolution to maintain good image quality. As a result, the new bodycam effect boosts in-game FPS by 10% to 25%, depending on your graphics card.Original view:

  • Added a keyboard layout option in the gameplay settings.
This change was actually added to the game on July 31, 2026, at the request of a player from France who holds the #1 spot on the leaderboard. Since I didn't want to create a whole new post last time just for a single line of text, I'm including this information now.
  • The Halloween and Christmas holiday modes are now available at any time.
Prior to today's update, these bonus features would only unlock on specific dates, becoming available during the Halloween and Winter Sales. The check was based on the player's local computer time, meaning you could have just temporarily changed your PC's system clock to check everything out. Now, let’s just keep it all accessible anytime.

I'm also thinking about slightly expanding the bonus game mode because I was a bit discouraged by feedback from one player. Their take was that while the main game is fine and the message at the end is fine, the bonus mode feels like some kind of parody or joke aimed at that very same message. Well, what can I say...

The bonus mode was created strictly so players could just blow off some steam after suffering through the main game. To just run around, kick chairs, shoot glass, and get revenge on those annoying monsters that kept you from beating the game. But aside from that, the main character, the madmen, and the monsters—they're all just ordinary people who were permanently strapped to chairs for twisted experiments. And that's the only reason they are all "seated" and glued to those chairs. The only person in the entire game who was meant to have actual leg issues and genuinely couldn't walk on his own was the man in the wheelchair at the very end of the game, in the final cutscene. I'll probably have to come up with and make another cutscene for the beginning of the bonus mode.

P.S. Also, I wanted to share a funny little thing. The game won't actually look like this, but it was just fun to see what it would look like if it wasn't in a retro style and had the magic of DLSS. It's pretty amusing.

Best regards,
Ells&Pills
