# Pirate Party Pals — v0.9.1 Patch Notes

## New

- **Fourth Rate's mizzen sail redesigned as a lateen** — the big warship's rearmost
mast now carries a triangular lateen sail instead of a square course, for a sharper,
more distinctive silhouette.
- **Galleon's mizzen lateen reworked** — deeper, smoother sail belly instead of the
old flat, faceted look, so it actually catches wind convincingly at a glance.
- **Standard matches now start with ships already on the water** — instead of an
empty ocean that slowly fills up, a handful of traders and pirates are out and
about from the moment a match begins. (Deathmatch and the tutorial still start
quiet, as before.)

## Changes & Balance

- **Dock panel now shows an honest "Broadside" rating** instead of a raw gun count,
so a ship's true firepower (including any per-hull damage bonus) is what you
actually compare when shopping for a new ride. Gun count is still shown as flavor
text below it.
- **Galleon's description rewritten** to match what she actually delivers — biggest
hold in the fleet still stands, but the old claims to the heaviest broadside and
thickest hull no longer hold up against the Fourth Rate and have been reworded.
- **Cannon fire sounds rebalanced** — the Fourth Rate's broadside now booms with the
heavy report its size deserves, while the Frigate moves to a medium report.
- **Camera framing improved for tall-masted ships** — the chase camera now takes rig
height into account, so masts on bigger ships (especially the Fourth Rate) are more
likely to stay in frame, particularly at maximum zoom.

## Fixes

- **Fixed the bug from the last update where ships could go invisible** — a frozen
camera, no ship in sight, and your crew standing in open water at the start of a
match. Sorry to anyone who ran into this one. The underlying weak point has also
been hardened so a single broken ship model can no longer make every ship
vanish.
- **Nameplates and captain icons above ships are now actually visible.** This feature
was announced a while back but had never actually worked in a real match — it's
fixed now.
