This update introduces several major new systems that expand survival, progression, customization, and animal behavior.
Added mating and offspring system.
Animals can request to mate with an opposite-sex member of their species once old enough.
Females can give birth and send mating/birth invites.
Morph targets now update throughout pregnancy.
Pregnant animals gain weight over time when they have sufficient food reserves.
Pregnancy increases Hunger drain.
Animals without sufficient food reserves will instead experience increased Fat Store drain.
Pregnancy increases Water drain.
Added randomized birth ranges for females.
Morph targets dynamically adjust based on the number of offspring present and remaining.
Newly birthed animals receive small bonuses to Health, Damage, and Stamina.
Added dynamic animal build system.
Added Stocky, Slim, Athletic, Muscular, and Slacker builds.
Builds develop over time based on an animal's playstyle.
Builds can dynamically change as gameplay behavior changes.
Added Lineage system.
Animals can now view their parents and ancestry.
Lineage tracks up to 5 generations.
Added Fatty, Normal, and Lean food types.
Fatty foods provide more nutrition and contribute toward Stocky builds.
Lean foods contribute toward Athletic and Muscular builds.
Normal food remains the standard food source.
Added dynamic Fat Store and metabolism system.
Animals can gain or lose fat depending on their diet and activity.
Animals can continue eating after becoming Satiated, increasing long-term weight gain.
Each animal has a baseline food type that dynamically changes based on its current Fat Stores.
Animals with high Fat Stores can shift toward a Fatty food profile.
Animals with very low Fat Stores can shift toward a Lean food profile.
Added altitude-based temperature changes.
Higher elevations are colder while lower elevations are warmer.
Added temperature states:
Hypothermia III
Hypothermia II
Hypothermia I
Chilly
Normal
Warm
Hyperthermia I
Hyperthermia II
Hyperthermia III
Hypothermia reduces movement speed and damage and can eventually cause Health loss.
Hyperthermia reduces Stamina and Stamina regeneration and can eventually cause animals to pass out.
Fat Stores now influence an animal's temperature tolerance.
Lighter animals handle heat better but are more vulnerable to cold.
Heavier animals handle cold better but are more vulnerable to heat.
Added new morph target customization options for all playable animals.
Animal body shapes can now be customized through the available morph targets.
Added Activity system.
Activity is tracked as Low, Medium, or High.
Activity levels influence the development of Slacker and Athletic builds.
Improved IK behavior.
IK should no longer activate on players or plants.
Added grass and tree wind interaction.
Grass and trees now respond dynamically to environmental wind for a more immersive and reactive world.
