June 2026's Steam Next Fest is almost here, and months ago I made the ultimate decision to commit Soul Chained to it. Ever since, I've been working around the clock - not because I've gone mad, but because the alternative is admitting how much work I still have left.
To celebrate this perfectly healthy development process, I've released a huge update for the demo alongside a brand-new trailer.
Let's take a look at what's new.
Besides spending the last few weeks wrestling with the demo, I also decided to make a brand-new trailer.
I'm pretty sure this won't be the last "final" demo update. But after countless changes, tweaks, fixes and optimizations, I've finally reached a version of the demo I'm proud to showcase during Steam Next Fest.
The Soul Chained Demo is now on Version 1.0. Some of the additions and changes include:
Expanded Combat System
Added New Physics Interactions
Updated Combat Animations
Better Chain Physics & Interactions
Better UI (from the Main Menu to the Game itself)
Single-player Mode (Ball-and-Chain)
New Single-player Mechanics & Gameplay Variations
Steam Server Integration & Friend Invites
Performance Optimizations & General Improvements
And that's just the stuff I remembered to write down. There are plenty more changes waiting to be discovered, so jump in, grab a friend (or don't), and see what's changed for yourself.
Btw, I'm still open to any feedback, so don't hesitate to leave some in the comments or on Discord!
