The First Big Update Is Here!

Hey everyone, the first update that I’d consider a proper big update is finally here!

This update brings a brand new weapon system, a completely new map, and a new zombie spawn reduction system to make the late game a little more manageable. I’ve also made a bunch of smaller fixes and improvements along the way.

New Combat System: Mutant Trees

The biggest addition in this update is our new combat system.

You can now place mutant trees directly onto the battlefield. And these aren’t your usual stationary defense structures.

The mutant trees can use their vines to grab zombies, absolutely tear them apart, and then throw them straight into other zombies.

But that’s not all. They can also launch small mortar shells at zombies from a distance, giving them both close-range and ranged attacks.

You can get up to 4 mutant trees, and the best part is that you can place them wherever you want on the map.

You can even move them around with your mouse during the battle and actively reposition them wherever they’re needed.

So now you’re not just managing your character and equipment. You also have much more control over how you use the battlefield itself.

A Brand New Map

A completely new map has also been added with this update.

It has a very different atmosphere and layout compared to the previous map, and I’m really excited to see how you guys play on it.

Zombie Spawn Reduction

I also added a new zombie spawn reduction system to help keep the late game from getting unnecessarily overwhelming.

As the game progresses, the battlefield can get pretty crowded, so this system gives you more control over the amount of zombies spawning and makes longer runs a bit more manageable.

On top of all that, I’ve made various bug fixes, small gameplay adjustments, and general improvements throughout the game.

Thank you to everyone who has been playing the game, giving feedback, and sticking around.

See you in the next update!

I’ve been working on something a little different for the next update: the Mecha-Gorilla . This is the first unit in the game that isn’t just sitting in one place and shooting at the horde. The Gorilla actually gets dropped onto the map, patrols its assigned area, and gets right into the middle of the fight. Getting the movement to feel right took quite a bit of work. I wanted it…
