Self-Hosted Servers now live

Hello Sleepers,

Today we rolled out our first iteration of Self-Hosted Servers. This is a more complex process than in some other games, one of the main reasons we wanted to get an early iteration out was to test it live with our community, so we can shape the tool around the way you actually want to play.

At its core, this feature lets you host your own World containing the servers that run the game’s maps from Hagga Basin to Deep Desert and everything in between. With the current functionality you can already adapt the game to your liking, including things like full PvP servers, adjusted gathering rates, disabling the Sandworm, or changing building limits. This is your World; you can have it all to yourself or share it with whoever you want.

You can get the full instructions here:

We're also hosting a livestream tomorrow at 17:00 CEST / 11AM EDT / 8AM PDT, where Michael Søvik, our Tools and DevOps Director, and Joel Bylos, Creative Director, will walk you through the setup process and answer any questions you have. This will be live on our Twitch channel here.

Longer term, we're looking to open up more settings and improve the overall experience, both in hosting and the in-game admin tools. Your feedback is crucial to that process. We've already taken a lot of notes from PTC testers and are looking forward to hearing more. The best place to share feedback is our Discord, in the Technical channel under the Game Discussion category.

Stay safe, Sleepers.
