Hey everyone,

We are completely staring at the dashboard in disbelief today.

When we posted our honest update last week about transitioning Legends of Starkadia to a paid model, we were bracing for impact. Shifting a project's model is always a massive gamble, and we didn't know how you would react.

To say we’ve been taken aback is a massive understatement. Before that announcement, the game had roughly 28,000 total downloads. As of right now, we have officially surpassed 200,000 downloads.

Reading through your comments, emails, and forum posts has been an incredibly emotional experience for us. Seeing how many of you stepped up to say you want to see this universe continue has given us a completely new wave of energy. We cannot thank you enough.

The Shift to $1.99 is Live (And How You Can Stand With Us)

As promised, today the base game officially transitions to $1.99 USD.

  • If you already downloaded the game during the free window: You own it forever. It stays in your library completely free, and nothing changes for you.
  • If you just got here: Every single dollar from these sales goes directly into our studio’s development bucket to recoup our initial two years of work and pave the road toward future chapters.

Because so many of you explicitly asked for more ways to help us fund that development bucket, we have officially launched our expansion bundles today alongside the price change!

Here is how you can vote with your wallet to keep us building:

The Starter Edition Bundle (Game + OST)

Grab the core game and the 9-track official soundtrack together at a 10% bundle discount.
Every purchase helps fund our ongoing studio bucket!

The Ultimate Supporter Edition Bundle (Game + OST + Supporter Pack)

This is the ultimate tier for true believers. It includes the game, the full soundtrack, and the brand-new Supporter Pack featuring 4 exclusive alternate cosmetic skins (2 for Mikey, 1 for Frank, and 1 for Drake) to show off in Scrap World at a 15% bundle discount.
100% of revenue from this premium edition directly funds future chapters.

Meet the New Look: The Supporter Skins

For those grabbing the Ultimate Supporter Edition today, here is a close-up look at the exclusive alternate skins your backing unlocks:

Whether you choose to grab a bundle, buy the base game, or simply leave an honest review on our store page, you are directly voting on whether the remaining 10+ planets of the Starkadia galaxy get built.

Checking Out the Party-Based RPG Fest!

Today also marks the kickoff of Steam's official Party-Based RPG Fest! Legends of Starkadia is incredibly proud to be featured alongside some absolute masterpieces.

While you are exploring our new bundles, please take some time to browse the festival page and check out the incredible work of other indie RPG developers. Making games is a beautiful, terrifying gamble, and supporting our peers keeps the entire indie ecosystem alive and thriving.

Keep the Feedback Coming!

We want to keep this transparent momentum rolling. If you want to show your support, provide feedback, or just talk strategy on how we scale this universe, jump directly into our Official Discord Server. We're hanging out there daily, and we'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for giving our studio a fighting chance to finish the story we started.

- The Doom Turtle Team
