The horizon's in sight, Captains — Pirate Twist sets sail into Early Access in 30 days. To mark the countdown, a fresh Playtest build has docked, and she handles like a different vessel — the biggest pass yet on the parts that matter: the wind that drives you, the broadsides that break ships, and the captains who hunt you across three seas.
Read the weather. Directional wind now drives the ship — tack into it, run before it, claw upwind.
Per-ship handling. Heavy hulls turn and accelerate like heavy hulls. Shredded rigging slows you, so guard your sails.
The whole hull is a target. Bow and stern shots connect now instead of sailing through dead-center.
Rake for the kill. Bow and stern raking fire multiplies your damage — cross the stern for the real payoff.
Pick your shot. Round (free & infinite), Chain (shreds sails), Grape (cuts down crew), Fire (sets her alight).
Enemy captains intercept to broadside, run strafing passes, and hunt the crossing-the-T rake. Beat a ship below a sliver of hull and she strikes her colors, raising a white flag.
A gentler opening ramp — early fights are readable duels, not dogpiles. The starting sloop was rebalanced to trade fire and evade.
Six named boss captains, drawn distinctly across each of the three seas.
Choose your stakes at captain pick: Deckhand, Captain, or Pirate Lord.
Storms now give a wider lightning-warning window — react quick and you can sail clear.
A long haul of bug fixes to smooth the voyage — saved-run hull now persists correctly, the aim reticle is restored between expeditions, and a clean New Game resets as it should. Thirty days out. Take the wheel now — opt into the Playtest and wishlist for Early Access:
