Dev Note: Nightstalker and gender options

Hello, Embers,
This is the Embers of the Uncrowned Team.

The last Dev Log covered improvements still in progress. This time we would like to share.

A new class, Nightstalker, and another face for Executioner, Spectral Blade, and Stormbringer.
Until now, these three classes were only available as one gender.

New Class: Nightstalker

We built Nightstalker from the story of a hunter who survived alone in the barren land of polar night, where the sun never rises.

A land where the sun does not set for months, or where darkness never lifts. There, you learned to survive, and to hone your craft alone.Harsh cold toughened the body.Moonlight was the only light. You learned shadow and frost from that dark.

We built this as a silent ranged hunter, one who melts into the dark and takes the target down.

Precise resource management and kiting make every shot count, giving Nightstalker a distinct feel from existing ranged archers. You’ll feel it in how each shot lands, and in the pleasure of piloting the class.

Combat

Nightstalker’s combat runs on Moonlight, a resource unique to the class.

Most classes build a resource, then spend it on skills. Nightstalker starts with Moonlight and spends it down as the fight goes on.

For this class, how you manage that resource is how you stay alive.

When to refill it, when to hold it, when to dump it — that sets the rhythm of the fight.

Then there’s Moonflare.

A special arrow that fires on a set turn. Pair it with different skills and the outcome changes.

It can freeze the enemy, or let you vanish into the dark.

Nightstalker can move between different playstyles.

  • You can be a sniper, hold the distance, wear the prey down.

  • Or a cold hunter: slow and freeze them, then take the decisive shot.

  • Apply an AOE darkness debuff and empty the quiver.

  • Hit-and-run, or vanish with Moonflare and reappear.

We can’t wait to see how you take this hunter into the field.

Visual Concept

We wanted Nightstalker to look like someone who survived that place.

Gray-blue eyes, pale skin, silver hair that fell loose in rough weather. A cold face. The kind that comes from polar night.

The outfit is built for mobility. Light leather and a slim robe, dark colors so you can disappear into shadow.

A clean silhouette and a quiver at the hip: a hunter always ready to draw. The longbow was meant to carry that identity as well.

Silver runes on the bow glow faintly with moonlight and frost. The arrows are made of frost crystal.

The moon mark on the arrowhead says this weapon was forged under the polar moonlight.

Three Warriors, Another Face

We’re adding the other gender for the existing classes, so you have more ways to play.

Identity and combat stay the same. You just get a wider choice.

Executioner

A veteran warrior with a body like steel, wielding a massive two-handed axe with ease.

The blunt, imposing look of someone who has walked too many battlefields.

That vanguard presence is still there.

Spectral Blade

Lean, built for agile, stylish combat. Even on the field, the outfit stays composed.

Behind a cool, proud face is a swordsman who gives no opening.

Stormbringer

Years of training against wave and storm, until they move as one with nature.

Light cloth and leather for mobile magic combat, cut like wind and water.

A relatively small frame and a youthful face, set against nature they command.

Below is concept art for the classes currently in development.

*Please note that the concept art for the female Executioner is still in development and will be shared in the near future.

That’s what we have for now on the new faces.

What Nightstalker will add to your journey, and how these new faces of Executioner, Spectral Blade, and Stormbringer will land — we are looking forward to seeing that soon.

See you in the next Dev Log.
