Marshals,
Update 0.9.0 is now available for Crown Marshal. This update introduces live match spectating, the new Crusaders unit, World Chat translation and submission history, along with balance changes, interface improvements, and bug fixes.
New Features
Live Match Spectating
The ongoing-match list in the Play panel now provides a Watch option for human matchmaking, Play vs AI, and custom matches.
- Each match row displays its current spectator count.
- Hover over the Watch action or the in-match spectator count to view spectator names.
- Each match supports up to 64 spectators.
- One side remains fixed at the bottom of the battlefield while spectating.
During deployment, spectators can only see both sides' previously fought ghosts and revealed Technology, modifications, and skills. New deployments for the current round remain hidden.
Battles are shown in full. Spectators can inspect both armies, ghosts, and strongholds, and can open each side's Intel panel separately.
Quick Chat, round results, Marshal damage, and the final match result are also synchronized.
Spectators cannot queue, join a room, or start another match while watching. Use the exit button or Esc to return to the lobby.
Spectators receive no Experience, Valor, Rating, match-count, or quest settlement.
New Unit: Crusaders
Added the balanced Crusaders unit.
- Deployment cost: 500 Energy
- Group size: 3
- Health per member: 360
- Attack damage: 50
- Attack interval: 2.0 seconds
- Other enemies within 0.8 m take 60% damage
Damage taken by one member is divided evenly among living members of the same group within 6 m.
Crusaders can be unlocked during a match through their Reinforcement card or permanently purchased from the Store for 8,000 Valor. Existing accounts do not receive the unit automatically.
The new Fervor of Faith modification has also been added.
- Store price: 2,000 Valor
- In-battle installation cost: 250 Energy
- Each living member regenerates 5% of its maximum Health per second
Both the base and modified routes include complete movement, attack, death, and self-healing presentation.
World Chat Translation
World Chat now supports translation between Chinese and English.
Messages written in the other supported language display a Translate action. Select it to view the translation, then select it again to return to the original message.
If translation is unavailable, the original message remains visible and the translation can be retried.
Translation actions, platform badges, and message text now use consistent alignment.
World Chat Submission History
The World Chat input now includes submission history.
- Use the Up and Down arrows to recall the latest 50 texts submitted during the current login.
- Messages that failed to send are also included.
- The current draft is preserved while editing a recalled entry.
- Returning to the end of the history restores the saved draft.
- Submission history is cleared after logging out or disconnecting.
Balance Changes
Rating-Gap Bonuses in Official Human 1v1 Matches
A winner who entered the match at or above the 2,000-Rating Master threshold no longer receives the additional 0-5 RP Rating-gap bonus.
The following rules remain unchanged:
- Base RP transfer
- The 20%-100% win-streak bonus
- The losing player's RP deduction
Winners below Master continue to use the Rating-gap bonus rules introduced in version 0.8.2. Historical settlements are not recalculated.
Necromancer and Raise the Fallen
- Reduced the Necromancer's deployment cost from 600 to 550 Energy.
- Increased the in-battle installation cost of Raise the Fallen from 200 to 250 Energy.
A revived non-building unit now returns in place at 10% of its maximum Health, recalculated using the new owner's Defense Technology.
The revived Health value is rounded down, with a minimum of 1 Health.
The one-second summoning delay, retained modification, and Technology ownership rules remain unchanged.
Pikeman and Elven Sharpshooter Modifications
- Reduced Indomitable Will's post-lethal fighting time from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.
- Reduced Split Arrow's in-battle installation cost from 150 to 100 Energy.
- Its up-to-three-target volley and 60 Attack remain unchanged.
Ember Whelp and Crypt Spider Modifications
- Increased the Ember Whelp's base range from 3 m to 4 m.
- Increased Ashwing Metamorphosis range from 4 m to 5 m.
- Increased Bursting Venom Sacs' splash radius from 1.0 m to 1.2 m.
Their other costs and stats remain unchanged.
Fixes and Improvements
- Improved changelog responsiveness when many historical releases are present. Expanding older release details is now smoother.
- The latest release's default expanded state, panel height, scrolling, and expansion behavior remain unchanged.
- Clicking a stronghold now displays selection brackets on the board. The viewed side uses gold, while the opposing side uses red.
- Stronghold modification route cards now correctly display the complete stronghold, including its current fortification level, skin, and active route, instead of transparent effects alone.
- While spectating, ghost outlines, selection brackets, and range circles now use the correct side colors for the viewing perspective.
- Fixed heads, weapons, or body edges being clipped during death animations across many units and modification routes.
- Fallen units now remain fully visible and correctly positioned, including both Crusaders routes.
- Partial splash damage now displays both its radius and damage share in the stat grid, such as 1.2 m 35%.
- Long Chinese and English unit descriptions no longer cover the movement or locking hint below.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback.
See you on the battlefield, Marshals!
