Patch notes for Steam (v0.5.2, PRs #139–145):

# Pirate Party Pals — v0.5.2 Patch Notes

## New
- Persistent ship wakes. The water itself now remembers where ships have sailed — wake trails linger and fade naturally in the water instead of just being a shape stuck to the hull.
- Deathmatch gold HUD. Each player can now see their own live gold total on their HUD during Deathmatch.

## Changes & Balance
- Wind feel retuned (Sloop, Schooner, Brigantine). Reworked how each hull responds across every point of sail, so strengths and weaknesses read more clearly instead of long flat, neutral-feeling stretches.
- Brigantine crosses shoals. The Brigantine can now cross shallow shoal passages directly, same as the Sloop and Schooner, instead of being forced around them.
- Twin Forts layout tuned. Ports now sit flush against each fort's shoreline, the north/south retreat lanes are wider, and the corner islands were trimmed back slightly for clearance.
- Twin Forts auto-selects Deathmatch. Picking the Twin Forts map in the lobby now automatically selects Deathmatch, its only supported mode.
- More natural sails. The Brigantine, Sloop, and Galleon's sails now billow with a bit more character and a natural starboard lean, with clearer gaps between the Brigantine's sail panels.

## Fixes
- Fort battery muzzle flash. Cannon flash, smoke, and fire now come from the actual barrel of the fort's guns instead of floating out over open water.
