Time to put in the work. Seven skills to level, a fishing rod to cast, and a bunch of homestead polish based on your feedback since the Homestead Update.
Level up your life
- Seven new skills to grind: Mining, Woodcutting, Cooking, Smithing, Farming, Fishing, and Construction. Every one of them levels from XP you earn just by playing — no separate grind screen, no decay, nothing to lose. Cap is level 50.
- Higher levels unlock real things: iron at Mining 10, gold at 25, mythril at 40, better seeds, better recipes, better fishing spots, and a small chance at double the yield every time you gather.
- Check your progress any time with the new Skills menu — a card for each skill with live bonuses and the full unlock ladder so you always know what's coming next.
- Level-ups get their own toast, sound, and particle burst. A small XP ticker floats above your hotbar so you can watch it add up in real time.
Fishing is here
- Grab a Fishing Rod, find some water, and cast. Watch the bobber, wait for the dip, and reel it in before the window closes — miss it and the fish gets away.
- Three fishing holes to start you off: the brand-new Town Pond by the east gate, Boarback Meadows, and — once you're levelled up — the waters of Skyreach Pass.
- Catching fish finally closes the loop on Grilled Fish, so that recipe actually means something now.
Party ready-check
- Dungeon leaders no longer drag the whole party in blind. Starting a dungeon now sounds a war horn and prompts everyone to ready up — the party only enters once everybody confirms (or it cancels if someone declines or times out).
Gear
- New wood and copper tier armor icons, with recipes to match — craft them at the bench to train your new Smithing skill at the same time.
Ranch polish
- Milking is now owner-only — visitors to your homestead can still pet your cows, but only the rancher gets the milk. Nobody loses anything either way.
- Milking has a proper sound now instead of happening in silence.
- Sofas count as a room chair for housing purposes, so they're a valid pick when you're furnishing a room for a resident.
Art
- Repainted the deep-underground fill tiles in your player world — the old rock texture was a barely-visible sliver stretched forever; it's a proper dark slate now.
Go catch something.
