Greetings, Freerailers!
Welcome to Phase 1 of our team-based play updates. The Dagger is no longer just a solo survival vessel; it is evolving into a true mobile base for you and your crew. We’re shifting the focus toward crew-based play and giving you the room you need to grow with new construction capabilities.
For those of you that have previously playtested, in case you missed the message, to implement these foundational changes to the Dagger’s systems and social structure, we have performed a reset on the following:
Dagger Vaults & Placeables
Character Data
Dagger Tech Tree Progression
This "clean slate" allows us to move into this new era of communal play without legacy data conflicts. Now, let’s look at what’s new!
Your Dagger is now a shared home. We’ve overhauled how players interact with ships to make group play seamless:
Permanent Members: You can now invite party members to become Permanent Members of your Dagger. When you hit "Play," you’ll automatically load into the ship where you hold membership.
One Ship Policy: To keep logistics simple, players can hold membership in one Dagger at a time.
Communal Vaults: Storage is now shared. Anyone currently on the Dagger, including guests, interacts with the same communal vault.
Note: If you are a guest on someone else's ship, you are accessing their vault, not your own!
Running out of room for your trophies and gear? We’ve hitched a brand-new section to the Dagger!
Custom Build Carriage: A new section has been added behind the main Carriage, dedicated entirely to your creativity.
1,000 Object Limit: This new space supports up to 1,000 placeable objects, including crafting stations, furniture, and decorations.
The Airlock: Access this new area via a manual airlock. Both doors must be opened individually, but there’s no wait for a "purge" sequence, just instant, manual access from either side.
The Dagger’s printing capabilities are now tied to its resource management.
Schematic Printing now requires active power.
To generate energy, you must add fuel items to your Fuel Core Receiver. Keep the lights on if you want to keep the printers running!
Keep your eyes peeled, you might notice that the Vault has moved location! Take a walk through your ship to familiarise yourself with the new layout and the expanded space.
This is just the beginning of our push toward deeper social systems and more complex mobile base management. We can't wait to see how you deck out your new carriages.
