Introducing the Schematics System

Freerailers, we’re excited to introduce a complete overhaul to how you gear up. We’re moving away from "knowledge gates" and putting the power of production directly into your hands with the new Schematics System.

Whether you're scavenging every corner or trading on the Titan Trains, your path to high-tier gear just got a lot more interesting.

TL;DR: The Schematic Update

  • No More Knowledge Gating: If you have the Schematic and the materials, you can craft the gear.

  • Schematic Storage: A new "Cloud" inventory in your Base Core keeps your schematics safe, character-bound, and accessible from any crafting bench on the Titans or your dagger. Placing a schematic into your basecore means it can’t be stolen and will remain there virtually until used.

  • Data & Research: Turn Data into full Schematics at Research Stations found in the malls on the Titans

  • Mass Production: Unlock Schematic Printing in the Dagger Tech Tree to manufacture your own copies using energy.

Dive Deeper:

Crafting Reimagined

The days of being unable to craft gear simply because you lack a "knowledge" unlock are over. If you have the Schematic and the raw materials, you can craft the item, regardless where you are on the Titan!

  • Gear, Weapons and advanced buildings: Now require a specific Schematic item that is consumed upon use.

  • Specializations: Cosmetic skins and weapon mods remain tied to your character

Scavenge, Scrap, and Research

Schematics are precious, and there are multiple ways to track them down:

  • Loot & Trade: Find them in the world or purchase them directly from shops aboard the Titan Trains.

  • Data: Don't toss those fragments! Feed tiered scraps into a Research Station to generate a random schematic of the equivalent tier.

The "Cloud" Base Core

We’ve added a specialized storage solution for your collection. Your Base Core now features a unique, schematic-only inventory with some powerful perks:

  • Character Bound: This inventory is "in the cloud." Access your schematics from any Base Core (Dagger or Titan Train) across the map.

  • Total Security: Other players cannot access or steal items stored in your Base Core.

  • Remote Crafting: As long as you have an active Base Core on your current train, your stored schematics are available at any crafting bench, even public ones far from your base!

Become a Manufacturer

Want to go full industrial? Unlock schematic printing in the Dagger Tech Tree. Once researched, you can use your Dagger’s Research Station and expend energy to print fresh copies of the schematics you need. Energy is generated from fuel on your Dagger.

Developer Note: Designing for Flow

This update marks a significant shift in how you’ll arm yourself for the Titan Train. We’re moving away from the frustration of "knowing" how to build a weapon but being locked out by a progression cap, and moving toward a system centered on physical Schematics.

As our dev team puts it:

"We wanted to add more strategic depth and tactical opportunities by gating gear crafting with expendable items rather than permanent knowledge.

By shifting gear progression into Schematics, we’ve created a more meaningful gameplay loop that balances preparation with opportunity:

  • The Strategy: This is your "pre-game." It’s the plan you form before you even leave cover. What do you research and pre-load into your Base Core to support your session’s goals?

  • The Tactics: This is your "mid-game." It’s how you react when a new opportunity presents itself, like "acquiring" (looting, stealing, or discovering) a fresh stack of rare schematics in the heat of the moment.
