The Geomancer has Evolved.

No longer a passive rear-guard spectator. They are now aggressive, battlefield-shaping catalysts. Their fingers are tingling with power... at last!

Here is what's changed in V1.62:

  • XP Gains are Team-Based

    • The Geomancer no longer earns XP the old-fashioned way. Instead, their level scales directly with the average level of your living company.

    • As your squad grows stronger, the Geomancer’s command over the earth deepens. If your veterans start dropping like flies... well, expect their power to ebb right along with your survival chances.

  • The Environment is Now Lethal

    • Power to kill, at last! Dropping a forest on a unit deals Guaranteed, Unblockable Damage.

    • But the earth isn't picky. It will happily obliterate your own allies too. Handle with care (or don't, we aren't your mother).

  • Increasing Ability to Impact

    • As your company's average level rises, the Geomancer unlocks harsher, more destructive terrain transformations:

      • Level 1 — Forest: Cost: 1 | Base Damage: 8

      • Level 4 — Mountain: Cost: 2 | Base Damage: 11

      • Level 7 — Swamp: Cost: 3 | Base Damage: 13

      • Level 11 — Mountain Pass: Cost: 4 | Base Damage: 17

      • Level 15 — Water: Cost: 5 | Base Damage: 18

  • Tactical Consequence

    • Causing a Mountain to crash down on an enemy archer inflicts severe impact damage.

    • But if they survive the initial shock, congratulations! You just gave them the high ground and a much better accuracy bonus against your front line.

  • Shape the Battlefield to Your Advantage

    • It’s not just about blasting foes. Control your environment.

    • Need to remove a pesky mountain pass? Want to carve open a flank, clog a narrow choke point, or elevate your own archers onto high ground for massive accuracy bonuses? The battlefield is yours.

  • BTW, did we say you can also remove terrain?

    • An enemy firing arrows from a mountain? The Geomancer can remove the mountain and inflict damage all in one magnificent move.

Use wisely!

Enjoy!

Martin

Game update5 Oct 2026Range Bug fixed when re-loadingSome of you sharp-eyed captains noticed your archers and trebuchets could suddenly shoot across half the battlefield after loading a saved campaign. And the damage felt like they were throwing wet rags instead of arrows. Turns out the archers were gettin' their bowstrings measured twice every time they walked back through the gate. Fixed it. They can see straight again. Drink up. Archer and tre…Community24 Aug 2026Free Retro ArcadeHey everyone, I wanted to share a side project that’s been a real labor of love. While developing Iron Resolution , I spent a lot of time thinking about the games that laid the foundation for the tactical, unforgiving, and rewarding experiences we enjoy today. That journey led me to create the Retro Arcade : a growing, free, open-source archive of classic games that truly defined a generation (…Community22 Jul 2026A Word from the TavernWe've been staring into the flames for a while, friends. The road's been long, the battles many, and the updates... well, they've slowed to a crawl. Not because we've stopped caring – far from it. We've just been catching our breath. Sharpening our steel. Letting the scars heal. Sometimes the best thing a commander can do is rest. So here's the deal: We're listening. We're always listening. If…
