Roadmap — what's next for Ashfire Keep

Ashfire Keep · published 22 Aug 2026, 02:37 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Two things up front: there are no dates on this list, and the order can change. It's what we're actually working on and considering, not a set of promises. What players report and ask for moves things around — that's the point of publishing it.

Next up

  • Colorblind and high-contrast modes. The game leans on color to tell defenses, elites and projectiles apart, and right now that's a problem for some players.
  • Deeper building. Moving defenses you've already placed, and new types to build — a stone wall, a brazier, a slowing totem.
  • More wave events. The system is there; it needs more variety running through it.
  • More difficulty options and mutators, for people who already have Nightmare handled.

After that

  • More enemy types and elite variants.
  • More maps to defend.
  • Run seeds you can share, so you can hand someone the exact run that beat you.
  • A hardcore mode.

Things we're weighing

These are real ideas, but they're bigger and we're not committing to them yet:

  • An endless mode, and leaderboards on top of it.
  • More playable classes.
  • Shareable end-of-run summary cards.

Tell us what's missing

If something on this list matters more to you than the rest, or if what you want isn't here at all, say so in the forums. This list exists to be argued with.
